That implies that they're showing up in my chat window. I've already explained that they wouldn't show up in /s, /sh, /y because I have those filtered, /fc or /l because they aren't in those groups, and /p would only work if I were for some reason in their party. The closest I can see for an flist macro is /flist add <t>, which would still require you to target them. So, a click to target, a click for macro, a click to confirm. Or can you think of a different way to get a specific character name into the macro?
It needn't be a "full-blown conversation." The fact is, you're suggesting we restrict the ability to even have two lines of communication, then suggesting that I add them to flist or ls just to remove them two lines later because I'll probably never talk to them again.
All I keep seeing is that you bring up how limiting the communication options of lowbies makes life easier on the rest of us. Just because it makes it easier on the rest of us doesn't mean it's the right thing to do, much less the best way to handle things.
