Please beastmaster cross fingers

I imagine a Tamer Class/Job is coming soon. Way back when, there was a document of planned crap for XIV:ARR, two pet classes were included; one which summons (Arcanist), and one which tames. While Yoshida has mentioned plenty of Jobs in the past, thats never been anything more than names, meanwhile we at least know that at one point they were working on a taming mechanic. To me, that makes it a very likely candidate for an upcoming Job. Possibly Musketeer as the Class, giving us Orator/Beastmaster (tame anything) and Corsair (pet parrot).

This is a little old but as far as I know Beastmaster was confirmed and is coming eventually :D

However, the word "Tame" is somewhat vague as it pertains to bst; hopefully it involves domesticating a monster for future use, aka summon style as opposed a a controllable pt member esque pet. The latter is bad news imo :(

Bear in mind two things here.

Firstly, (I've probably been heard to say this before but) it's known through 1.0 lore that there exists in the Holy See of Ishgard a group of women with the ability to tame and train wild beasts to follow their every command.

Secondly, when Square released their roadmap for A Realm Reborn they had in it mentioned that they would be adding an ability called "Tame". Obviously a lot on the roadmap didn't happen at release, but instead is implemented later through the numbered patches.

So yeah, still feeling hopeful about Beastmaster and other jobs. Though it remains to be seen if Beastmaster will be relased when Ishgard is opened up to players, would make sense.

A BST would be pointless in ffxiv as any job can solo to level 50 with no problems at all. In FFXI it worked as it was a far more dangerous place and u could only solo up to a certain point and then needed a party to progress. It's one of the things about ffxiv that I find disappointing , there is no fear/risk which takes away a lot of the excitement of exploring. I would like to see some new maps in ffxiv where every turn was a threat and/or you couldn't get through it without extreme caution or as a group. Please bring the excitement back SE :)

If bst were announced, I would ask, what level will these pets be? Same as the master? Fine. Normal monsters are rather weak, how will they fair against dungeon content where gear is crucial? Will there be beast barding/armor for pets? If not, do not bother releasing bst, go blu instead; they are based upon monsters aswell, perhaps much easier to implement.

In XI, bst used jugs; however, these jugs were extremely weak and the developers chose poor dd pets to give us. Our choices were rather limited aswell, due to how often SE released new jugs and the pets were also quite weak to begin with. The best dd pets were never released, scorpion, opo, Wivre, etc. I am uncertain what role bst would be, however, in XI, pet debuffs did not land.

There are a plethora of potential issues bst can run into in XIV; I am quite skeptical to be honest. Calling forth a Aevis pet would be cool though^^
