It's funny because these type of threads attract all the attention seekers who try to stand out and be all offensive. What's so wrong with some people wanting to honour their friends memory? I'm sure if it was one of your friends and people were going on like this you'd be pretty offended/upset.

This was a very kind thing to do from you all. I'm sorry about your friend and hope he found peace.

Don't be so hard on the guy/gal who can't deal with RIP threads. You don't know where s/he's been or what s/he's seen. Maybe this is just the wrong time to be reminded we're not immortal. I've been in lots of games and it isn't unusual for an RIP post. If you just want to be a casual gamer and not get attached to people behind the avatar that is fine to. Let it go and move on.

Isn't this kind of morbid for the official forums? This should belong on a fan page or a Facebook/Twitter page. I feel uncomfortable reading about dead people on the official forums.

It's sad that this happened, but it seems like this would fit well in the server forum- to reach most of the people that might have interacted with him/her.

It's not that most people don't care when someone gets killed in Syria, Ukraine or anywhere else.
It's simply that there isn't any emotional connection. They can't relate.

I'm sure most of the people who look into what is happening in Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela, etc. will find himself/herself concerned about what is happening there and feel empathy for the people who suffers and those who died.
And the more you get information to you, the more you can make it personal and be emotional about it.

I believe it is the same thing here. I didn't know Osa Talo, but as I read the posts of people talking about him/her in this thread, I was able to relate to what the friends and family are living and what was the message here.
It became personal to a certain extent.

You have to be truly something to move people to the point that they hold a memorial for you in-world. And from what I gather she was quite the Elezen. Osa Talo I salute you, may you ride the waves of adventure in the next life as well.

To those left behind, you have my condolences. Hopefully she was able to see just how much you all cared for her. :o
