2.25 in 9 days or less. Animus weapon owners, are you excited?

I've only just started starting to catch up on all the work I set aside while farming those myths; as excited as I should be, I'm absolutely dreading the patch set to hit the realm in what, 3 days from now?

I thought they said the next upgrade for relic would be 2.3, you "rare breed" of animus owners are going to be disappointed me thinks.

There will be a quest in 2.25 and 2.3 they said.

So odd, how half the posters in this thread can't even read whats in the thread. There's many posts that tell you that 2.25 has further progression for relic. There's even a quote. In any case, I'm only about halfway into my animus progress. But judging by all the soldiery gear I see all over the place. I'm likely going to be catching up to most of the other relic peeps. I've been saving up soldiery, just based on a assumption. The previous relic took both tomes, so I figured so would this one, eventually. It's gonna be interesting on the forums that day, if the quest does require soldiery.

He didn't expect you to complete it before 2.25 came out, but your progress on the current quest should continue till 2.3. If there were plans to introduce a new upgrade, he would be much more specific in his wording.

As one of the few animus owners, I am really excited to see what 2.25 bring, if anything, to our weapons. I would very much like to trade the skill speed for crit. More weapon dmg is always awesome too.

I've quoted direct from the Japanese live letter in 2 of my previous reply too. The Japanese version is always the accurate version since it is pretty known that the EN translated ones may be mistranslated (happened too many times)

I have 4 stones. 3 weeks since my last stone dropped. Countless hours fate grinding since. I'm not excited at all. I'm bitter.

I expect atmas drop rate to increase on this patch

add a next set of books that cost 1000 soildery

2.25 is going to be out on Thursday 5am Pacific. Saving my soildery this week incase the next books or whatever take it.

I will finish up my 9th and final book today when I get home from work, to have my upgraded Animus for a full day before finding out if new progression will be enabled for it.

I'm not going to pretend I can translate Japanese, but I am interested as well if we are going to be able to progress the Animus in 2.25. All the translation threads I read hype up the fact that Yoshi said "new quests in 2.25 and 2.3", so I'm hoping we get more. If not, I won't be too upset. I can work on my neglected crafters that should be masters by now.

Now if I can just find a competent T5 party that doesn't claim to know all phases of the fight then die at divebombs every single time, I'll be set :\

Only completed 2 books out of the 9. I'm in no rush; I'll get up to the Animus weapon and continue then. Whether it's in 2.25 or 2.3, I think opening doors for everyone is always a good idea although kinda surprised that there are more people on this thread that state they have their animus already. Granted, tome grinding ain't as bad but that's some serious tome grinding to get your books. Kudos; I sure as hell don't have the time to spend to do that!

I'll get to it at some point for sure. =) Although it's weird that they're releasing 2.25 at a month and updating a quest that maybe 1% of folks have completed.

I'd rather take my time, and just enjoy things. Of course, if grinding something out makes you (the generic "you") happy, then more power to you.

I do hope the next stages offer something a little more exciting in terms of challenge. I don't mind slow progress through the books, but going from a challenging set of tasks to Atma farming... that's a little unimaginative. I would like to what the actual design reasons were for it, other than "it gets lv50s doing something in low level areas". That's not really good enough, I don't think.

If it requires something more crazy then I EXPECT at LEAST an ilvl of 110

An FC-mate spent weeks of grinding to get his first Atma, then suddenly started getting lucky and went quickly from 1 to 11. He's been stuck on #12 for some days now. He's thinking about quitting fate grinding until after 2.25, hoping something will be done about the RNG extreme.

I hope something does come out that takes rowena's tokens (not the ones of soldiery). I banked about 30 of them before 2.2 and that was after I'd already purchased 4 of the i90 weapons. I have nothing to spend them on but more weapons for jobs I don't have leveled.

I would love to see some quest like killing Odin,killing the extremes 5-10 times and killing T5.o/

I would doubt so, maybe in patch 2.3, 2.25 might be stat/WD upgrade and i105 at best I guess.

Still grinding fates with the few left people that are also grinding them. Most of the time there are only 4 or 5 people at any given time grinding them out. I've spent hours doing fates and I'm still at 8/12. So, whatever happens, happens.

The next upgrade shall go up to 110. Name? Who knows.

Reasoning behind this. They say they want the most powerful weapons from Coil.

What was the difference in ilvl of the zenith and allagan weapons. 5 so I say it will be 110. or they will release 2 more upgrades which will take it from 100 to 105 then to 110.

All we can really do is wait and see.

Yeap. Could be i110, IDK, but 2 more upgrade is certain - 2.25 and 2.3. Yoshida also announced that customized secondary stat will be available, should be either one of the next 2 patches.

It looks like the leviathan weapon will become obsolete very soon, especially if the animus++ have customized stat or +1 weapon dmg.
It seems I ve done the good choice to do my animus and not farm the mirror ^^

TBH.. I think the whole idea of Levi EX weapons is to give players quick access to i95 weap other than farming T5, and Levi EX is arguably easier than T5 even with Echo. Some players just can't do divebombs and twisters and it's easier to "carry" bad DPS in Levi EX compared to T5 with conflag and snake DPS check.

But not all Levi EX weapon is good thou - I believe PLD's sword is quite shitty compared to Allagan Blade, but Wave Bow will be better than Allagan Bow. The mirror is just a bonus for some lucky chaps and with the ridiculous drop rate, I don't think SE ever intent to make it overshadowing relics. I recalled how a handful of the i90 primal weapons made relic zenith a joke and how players were ridiculing the relic as a result.. so I think SE probably not gonna make it happen again lol.

That's why I never bothered with Levi and went for Animus straight given that Yoshida already laid out the upgrade path and thus knowing that efforts spent obtaining Tidal weapon would be eventually wasted effort.

Hopefully the ilvl goes up to 110. I feel that if it lags behind the tome weapons by too much, then what would be the point in upgrading?

2.28 .....may ><

Delayed until 2.28 in May. Now I don't know what to do. Should I get one of the coil weapons waste 1300 points or wait until whenever it comes out in May.

Those were some pretty flaky reasons for the delay.

It's a problem for a lot of people using an ilvl 100 weapon when trying to progress turn 9 is not good. So its either get the 110 weapon or wait for the relic upgrade. Allthough I was planing on using sands of time on a piece of gear, since I already finished animus.

Well at least he says various means to get it, not just one way like Myth tomes, taking into considerations of the various feedbacks and complaints.

Sounds like a good move that they are listening, but let's not hope it's drops from Odin/Behemoth or rare FATE bosses or rare loots from expensive treasure maps that cost 10k a piece (which WILL be jacked up to heavens later) LOL.

2.28, given that the reason behind the delay is not many people having Atma and Animus yet, I predict it will be on a maintenance scheduled on 21st May. Exactly 4 weeks from the 23rd April maintenance to give enough time for people to complete their Animus and also to introduce the last step of Echo (30%) for the Binding Coil (expecting 2.26 on 7 May but just very minor bug updates and the 20% step Echo for Coil).

To get i110 weapon you'll need to clear T8, and most team would probably need an i100 which is either Animus or Weathered weapon.

I have a feeling eventually Novus would be i110.. so it depends on where your raid is right now. If already cleared T8, might be better to get the masterworks weapon. If by 2.28 still not clearing T8 or just started T9, might as well upgrade Animus and spend sands for armor or so.
