Daystar set and your piety.

"If" you change entire set.. But, you can always use different gear to cover pie or determination part and.. What not, just use glamour for perfection :). I'm sure they will add better gear with high pie stat in near future.. Like many people say "魔力はヒーラーのお宝" (basically, "pie" magic points are healers tresure). Let's wait for new update.

Pie is for bad healers that spam heals.

Now.. Speaking of mana management, that's something totally different.
In a place like... raids, it's difficult to say who is doing what wrong (sometimes), should healer be blamed for not having high enought mana? Or is it someone else's fault. Perharps, party is bad. I seen few good players in my group that makes me want to say "wow, do they even need a healer?"... Only if everyone would be that skilled lol.. (No pressure tho)

Mana is not hard capped at 5000. If I put on my max piety gear and pop a Mulled Tea, I'm at 5111. With a sch in the group, or better food, I'd be higher.

If I recall, there is no cap for MP at all, there IS however a soft cap on Piety at 430, any PIE above that will no longer provide MP regen benefits, only increase your max MP. 430 PIE should be exactly 100 MP/tick during combat, but I haven't been able to gear myself past that point to verify, and I'm not really in the mood to re-spec twice to test it.

No, there's no such cap. I can bring myself up to 450 Pie (5151 MP) on White Mage with Piety-focused equipment and food, and in-combat regeneration is the expected 103 MP/tick.
