Not surprised either really. Unlike the first turn there wasn't a 20 ilv discrepancy in gear and it's no secret that they've been at it pretty much all day every day till they got it down.

The big problem with Twintania was that no one could figure out how Twister's worked to literally save their lives. They made it a little easier on everyone, and even took it offline if I remember.
Also, judging by the screenshot, they died a few times. So no, I imagine it's not easy, even for a skilled group like Blue Gartr. Regardless, congratulations BG.
And that sword looks amazing. I want it.
I'd like to think that any of us would be able to pass the turns if we had a dedicated group such as theirs. The circumstances to find such people are to rare and too few. I'm sure they've even got large quantities of time to practice with. It's very rare to find 1 person like that let alone 8..
Turn 5 was bugged and kept getting shut down because the game was rushed, thus it took more time to beat even with all the good skill. They had more time now to not screw up on the coding and they also didn't leave a whole tier of gear out like CT was supposed to fill in before it got taken out.
I don't understand how anyone was even remotely surprised by the timing on this downing. I consider myself a fairly average slightly above player in terms of skill level, and my own static downed T6 before the first reset the following tuesday after patch playing literally 3 hrs roughly each night. I also took time to consider that there are other groups, better skill wise, with better gearing luck and much more time for raiding 6hrs+, factor in how fast the turns including T8 were getting downed by multiple groups each week, there's probably several groups not only BG that have been on T9 i'd wager since last week and have just been ironing out mechanics.
If BG releases a video, the downs will come quickly soon after. These turns were a skill check for sure vs a DPS, or HP Check. Skill checks do not sustain with a lot of the end-game community. Its no different then Titan Extreme in terms of skill. Skill is flexibility, adaptability, understanding, planning, etc. Factor all that into any fight and they're all doable. Keeping that solely as the only mechanic to wall content though is horrible. Way back when, people were failing turn 4 horribly because of the DPS check. Then even after the T5 kill vids were up people were failing dive bombs or tanks getting one shot by death sentence.
Look at the new turns, which honestly felt dangerous?. T7 is probably one of the most skill requiring turns atm, albeit with assumingly t9 as well. People say t8 is a dps check, and while that is true in basic instance planning, its not valid as a DPS check, if you completely eliminate a need for a off tank in the instance mechanically, thus opening the spot for a 5th DPS.
it's all depend of the skill of the player. why did they dump soo many hours, mostly because they have done it with the minimal in equipement, i'm sure with a bit more stuff they will down it easily.
what someone with a work can't do? if he is dedicated, he can spend 3-4 hours per evening at only do this with a group of good player i don't see why they can't do it.
Considering the amount of fully melded eq they had, skill wasn't the only requiredment. That a lot of Gil to blow in the current market. Heck I don't even think the cap optimizations for melded i90 has been complied yet.
If you have to work 60hrs a week you are doing it wrong anyway and i feel sorry for you. Downing content comes to finding a dedicated group of ppl that works as a team and not 8 individuals of which everyone wants to have the biggest cake. Skill and gear checks come afterwards. It has nothing to do with putting 10 or 40 hrs into the game per week. Of course those with more time will likely success first but stop the hating/jealousy.
Congratulations BG.
And while it seems like a really fast accomplished first time kill, a fight you can win by mastering it's mechanics even though you are comparable weak is always better than a fight which heavily relies on you to have a certain men power just to get on.
Yeah, they're on my server. Always walking around in all the new turn gear. T-T
Ppl should be happy for bg!
While "everyone" else was farming levi ex and the such, bg instead moved on and pushed forward.
No time for silly "levi ex farm, watch vid and know fight plz. 3 strike rule " parties.
Good for them for taking their time with learning the fight and coming up with a kill strat.
Honestly you don't need 8/raid but you do need more fleshed out and actual bosses.
Lets look at coil 1 and see how many actual bosses we got shall we? t1 is a real boss, t2 is a trashmob with a new mechanic (rot) t3 is a benny hill race, t4 is more trash and t5 is an actual boss.
So we got 2.5 real bosses. Wows shortest raids (stuff like hyjal) had more real bosses.
You do realise that T5 was off for three weeks because majorly bugged ? would have been killed faster otherwise. Not havin much doubts about how other fcs will catch up, it ll be slow.
Besides I think BG put 10 hours + into progression everyday in new turns. So yeah ^^
Congratulations on that down, totally deserved :D
Congrats to them on the win. Lots of time invested I'm sure! I do however find it kind of stupid SE would allow Turn 8 (and apparently even Turn 7 from what I have heard) to be able to be solo tanked under a month into release. While I don't like forcing double tanks via tank swap mechanics all the time...idk it just seems weird to me that it can be done already.
guide or didn't happen.
lol @ "light on content"
I do wonder what game has recently come out that took the best FCs(guilds) around a month to complete. I look at the WoW players and I almost cry at how few updates and content they actually get, and when they do get new end-game there is Raid-Finder version which allows any noob to complete it in one sitting.
I would very much like to hear of those games with end-game dungeons/raids so hardcore and heavy on DPS-checks that it takes months for anyone to clear them.
Those folks play the game as a job- so this is to be expected. It's probably not reasonable to draw any conclusions about how that performance relates to the performance of people who do not treat the game as a job- who do other things. Kind of like it makes no sense to compare your in game gil to gil farmers.
BG is going to have a lot of nothing to do, you/we have a lot of struggle ahead of us. You know they are in Coil like 8 hours a day right? At least. If you have a group willing to do 8+ hours a day 7 days a week then maybe you can down Turn 9 soon, but regular groups will not, so this is not a concern for you
gonna lol so hard if they don't release strat. Then lets see what "light on content" says then ^^
i think 2.2 has a considerable amnt of things to do so i dont think it has anything to do with lack of content.
the thing is that that group plays this game for hours on end, 7 days a week and learned
the ropes quicker than the usual player. so they have wayyy more time on their hands than others do.
the only time you will see an influx of clearers is if they release a video...which i dont think they should
so others can learn by themselves and as a team. i never watch videos on anything.
BG is playing smart. They're not going to release their video until a few more top notch FC's clear T9 so people won't copy their strategy.
I have hardcore progression raiding experience in other games.
The mechanics are braindead obvious with convenient tooltips.
48 hours for T6, 12 in-game hours, max.
24 hours for T7, 8 in-game hours, max.
24 hours for T8, same 8 in-game, max.
The only significant humps for any high end progression group are "mystery mechanics" that have sketchy / no telegraphing and behave in strange/counterintuitive ways.
Too much time on their hands :l
Name one form of entertainment (or better yet, consumable media) that can release content faster than it can be consumed...
All of those things can be consumed much faster than the development time to create or implement them.
Edit: Or are you referring to an actual board version of chess/checkers? Those I will concede. As well as the chinese versions, and poker, and padu. But if you are meaning a digital version, my point still stands.
So because the best guild in the entire world beat it that makes it too easy?
