Drivers constantly crashing.

I've enough wattage for my power supply. Not over clocking anything, I have MSI Afterburner and temps of crash are about 40-55 Celsius.

I can give 320 a try. The earliest I tried was 327 or something.

You may want to contact gigabyte and see about an RMA. Seems there have been some issues with their cards after researching them.

I think you guys are over calculating the amount it takes to power a single 780. I have a 650 watt gold seasonic psu w/ a 780 and I rarely crash. If I do it is because I'm running all sort of crazy stuff on my other monitor that i know sometimes causes conflicts and locks up my pc.

In short:

1. Check ALL drivers for your hardware
2. Check back ground programs (don't be running origin and shiz like that)
3. If you overclocked your card that maybe it.
4. If you run sweetfx that may be causing it as well. (even more so if you are part of "fight club") and run the thing that should not be named.

Oh based on your current info, gigabyte card... maybe you have a lemon. May have to rma :/

Wow.... how come we need a psu with so high Wattage.

Unless you are running SLI or Xfire, anything over 750w is kinda overkill.

As for the op, high chance your gpu is screwed. Or, the graphic settlings is screwing with your card. Try turning shadows and other bells and whistles 1 by 1 off. And try again.

This isn't always true. It all depends on what kind of rig someone has. Between my overclocks and my video card, there is a very good chance that 750 may not be enough for me. We don't really know his full specs, but in this case, you are probably right. Either way, one shouldn't skimp out on PSU and should research what they are buying to ensure it is the right PSU for their needs.

Just a bumpage. 320 seems to be a lot more stable but my FPS is a bit more choppier, not sure if it had anything to do with it. Regardless, still crashing a bit, but the recovery rate is faster and it's not near as frequent. Hesitant to date even earlier.

Bumping this as the issue now has gotten worse. I am now getting "Fatal" DirectX errors causing the game to literally crash itself and then I get a little pop-up saying that ffxiv.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics engine.

Also adding that my friend thinks it's a graphic's hook issue between the card and the game.

Having purchased the same card as Ranulf here (since I linked it to him o_o) I've been having naturally similar issues, albeit since the recent patch they've been different by a bit. Before my crashing was centered around FFXIV--I could run [insert game here] for hours on end and never once have a problem. Some days I can do the same with FFXIV. Other days I can barely re-log after a crash before I crash again.

Temperatures within range of 40~50 C, tested at both full load (pushing the system also to 60~70 C) and with just XIV. We've tried varying drivers, time of day, cleaning out the PC, resetting configurations, so forth. All I can think of right now is either:

A) A direct look at the problem between NVIDIA and SE could fix it, though from experience in Q&A that would be a tremendous amount of man hours spent for something that might not be a huge deal in the grand scheme of things.

2) The card is bad and we ought to RMA as has been suggested.

Everything is still fine with my 7970. You might put a support ticket in with nVidia if a drivers update/sweep doesn't fix your issue.

If you look into other threads on SLi and Crossfire, you will see people with fairly large gains over single card. Me personally, I run two GTX 670s. At max settings on one card, I might dip below 60FPS in Moogle and Leviathan Extreme, but with both cards on, it never goes below 70FPS.

That said, in closed instance dungeons, performance will go back to being a single card as SLi/Crossfire has difficulty rendering the purple wavy 'lock-out' barrier.

The cards are overclocked, and I do occasionally get crashes due to one card's power usage, but I play windowed, so it doesn't affect much and I can get back into the game. Watch Dogs on the other hand...

Do you have the in-game frame cap turned on? If not cap frame rate at 60 fps. Whenever I turn it off to see how many fps I can get I get driver resets. I'm running a gtx 780 and latest drivers.
