Not me, its a bit overwhelming but I like that.
Only times I do get the verge is when I see this bottom less pit of in satisfaction.
SE should offer a one time refund for those that want to or think about quitting then after there will be no escuse.

Not unsubing at all, but i will say this, Atma's have completely ruined Party Finder and the ability to do other content. you wanna do ex primals? sure, but you're gonna do it with people who have no zenith and suck at their jobs. wanna do coil? sure but you're gonna get to do it with people that are undergeared and suck at their jobs.
Not me. I finally log in and just have so many different things to do. It's a little overwhelming sometimes but I love it! SE nailed it with 2.2.
People have threatened to unsubscribe for the exact opposite reasons, and sometimes they do.
It must be difficult to create content that appeals to casual and core players.
I haven't decided yet if i am going to continue the subscription, depends if SE will resolve the current issues.
Firstly is horrible community and i don't see anything done to resolve this issue (x-server DF, can say or do anything since you likely won't ever see those people again).
Second is server stability - 90k error was here for weeks and haven't gone anywhere, many people dont play because they often get 90k in the middle.
Third is lag introduced right after the 2.2 hotfix - dungeons that depends on reaction are between impossible to very hard and so far nothing have been done, just like AV being laggy for weeks with no fixes.
I find this patch great for casual players apart from the difficulty of obtaining vanity items, I think that should have been easier.
But I can upgrade my weapons for DoW,DoM,DoL and DoH with only an investment of time, and I don't need to deal with mean people or dungeons.
I always thought this game gives you things too fast.
More of these useless topics but to answer the question ... it havent even cross my mind to unsubscribe at all.
This game is not suitable for casual gamers like me. You can't progress by going solo.
I only have a 1 or 2 hours each day to play. I am OK with the fact that I will never have a static group to play and raid with.
I can't understand why it is necessary to complete group quests to progress the main story. I have spent all my gaming time in the last week registered with Duty Finder in order progress. I haven't gotten in to Sastasha ONCE.
I want to progress these quests so that I can get a retainer. It pretty pointless bothering to level up my crafters and gatherers until I do.
I've realised that I'm going to run into this problem over & over.
I really love this game and I'm sure there's gonna be heaps more it has to offer. I really look forward to coming home from work and playing each afternoon.
I have 11 days of game time left. If I haven't gotten into Sastasha by then that'll be it.
Now that I realise that I'm never gone be able to progress I'm over it.
I feel bad for you so I might have a few suggestions for the reason it's so bad for you:
1. Did you know you are on a Japanese server? Your Duty Finder defaults to you searching only for English speaking members if you are from the US or EU or something, I think. So make sure to check EVERY language box in the Duty Finder EVERY time you search. Because as you might have guessed, the Japanese servers have more Japanese speaking players than English speaking players.
2. Move to a US server.
3. Play a healer or a tank.
But honestly I suspect my first point is your issue here. :) Hope it helps.
i'm actually enjoying the latest patch for the new shinies and QOL additions so far. Then again my highest level is 40, and i keep on getting distracted by trying out new classes and activities, so at the moment i'm pretty much not even able to do much in the way of grinding since i keep finding new missions and stories to enjoy. Even FATEs still entertain me.
At this point i'm still enjoying unlocking new stuff enough to not care about the endgame content.
Although the last few dungeons i was in were having annoying lag issues that's not completely surprising, and if my experiences in other MMOs are anything to go by most of that should be fixed in the next week or so.
DPS classes have 30-40 minutes waiting time for dungeons, sometimes longer. If you started dps class thinking it's more universal - it's not, all content is about duty/party finder for 4-8 people.
Tanker roles usually have queues within 2-3 minutes, but most of people are unforgiving for new tankers and it's better not to try.
Healers (before lv30 conjurer is the only healer class, but sch is easier later) have queue within 5-7 minutes and people are much more forgiving to them since there is very little a healer can do to fail sastasha.
Duty finder is cross-server so it does not matter what server you are on, but make sure to check all languages and queue within primary server time (10 am - 12 pm), outside of it people usually sleep.
You know I don't believe you jaybot, you claim you don't have time but you have 5 level 50's basically what this tells me is you just want SE to hand you stuff without you even trying but you put time in other things.
Not even close to unsubscribing, if anything i like this way more than 2.1.
On a side note why are you saying Unidentified Tomes are RNG?
no, because i wasn't a fan of the instant gratification thing in the first place.
atma pieces don't drop? w/e. i'll get them eventually, it might not be today, or tomorrow even. but they will inevitably drop.
Much as I hate the idea, yes. :/ Not only did they make the new weapons ridiculously grindy, they also made the method to upgrade to some decent armor. (As in the weathered upgrade.) Drop in coil 7. Ya know, where you're already going to be getting 110 (Or was it 115?) gear. Invalidating the whole reason to upgrade the weathered gear in the first place. Yeah. On top of this they've made gearing a fresh fifty (As in without an i70+ main job.) FAR harder initially, requiring either buying off the MB for some ludicrous price, Leaching like a useless tool in CT a billion times in a row (Screw RNG. Screw it screw it a TRILLION times screw it.) or pray your FC mates have the stuff needed to make you the Market gear. Or run WP/AK five billion times for the crappy ilv 55 gear. And maybe one piece of cheap myth per... 16.5 runs.Yeah.
(Double post incoming because of moronic character limit.)
Or level several crafts yourself, though many can't fking stand the boring grind and absurd RNG. (90-100% chances my arse.) I damn near unsubbed for the paid Retainers all on their own. They know full well how screwed a lot of people are on inventory space. And they pull that. BIIIIG nope.
And lets top ALL of this off with the ridiculous lag they've added with the latest patch. Ran Sas yesterday, and everyone was porting around. I used to only lag EXTREMELY rarely. Until this patch it may have happened ONCE in about every 30-40 runs. Now it's every other run. Something they've done has screwed the duty servers up in horrible ways.
All this said, I WANT to love this game. I do. I'm even planning to grab the ps4 version But if crap don't improve by the next interim patch I'm out till they figure out where they messed up. Raise myth drops or bring Philo back and slap some new i75 stuff in the new hardmodes. (Or even i85) and maybe buff the difficulty in return.
I do not care for the Atma Portion of this new Relic Quest but I guess I will just deal with it and try to get it slowly so that I can still farm Coil for gear and work on beating the last to EX Primals so I can unlock Leviathan EX. I am in it for the long haul and will play this game until it dies...bring it on!!!
Make Atmas less ridiculously rare or make it possible to get them from duty runs. (Or maybe make fates give something like 5 myth a fate if your max level is 50 so most of the fates you do aren't UTTER wastes of time when you're getting screwed on every single atma.) FIX THE LAG, though I imagine that goes without saying. Maybe add a failsafe in. Like every 100 fates you get a guaranteed atma. (There is at least one person out there with luck THAT bad for each person who gets their first in 30min.)
Yes I know, triple post. But I keep hitting the ridiculous 1000 character limit.
Nope.. enjoying it even more as a casual actually.
I like it to be honest.. but I disagree with how we get AF2. Upgrading Weathered armor with the need of coil drop sucks, it means even if you try it's not guaranteed you'll be able to win the "requirement" to upgrade it.
Not even close to thinking about un-subscribing Im in love with 2.2 !
This. It seems to me SE are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
Just like Coil/CT. All the complaints that people could only do Coil once a week. SE should make it so you can run it multiple times but only loot once a week people cried, then when SE did just that with CT we heard loot lockouts are stupid, SE sucks.
to start, you can get past that limit by simply editing your post.
Secondly, though many of us hate how you get the atmas and books, there is a reason for it. That reason is slowing people down. If you allow people to just burn through content, they whine and complain that there is nothing to do. If you give them something like the atma's, they spend time doing it, and it's not something they can burn through. In my FC, there is only one person with an atma weapon, and it took him like 12 hours to get all the atmas for it. If you make atmas to easy to get, peopel will stop complaining about how hard they are to get, and start complaining about how easy they are to get and that there is nothing for them to do anymore.
Tis why I threw out the rather high number for the failsafe. Should probably be lower, but some people are going to be going on at 50 hours without getting ONE Atma while others are going to be swinging around their animus by the 5th tops just based on luck. It kills all will to even play the game if you can't see any real progress toward your goal and you can't even be sure there will BE progress for the next 50 hours. Yes, extreme example. For most it'd be 20hours max per atma (Which is still freaking absurd.) But the point is still a valid one. At least for me and I'm sure many others who the RNGods seem to have a very serious vendetta against getting this weapon while its still current content isn't even a feasible goal. It's not WORTH the time. It's also hurting that a Relic was the only way to get a decent weapon that didn't involve the stupid RNG. This patch has no such way, which means we're basically stuck with relic until we can, by some miracle, clear Levi EX enough times for the RNG to stop being an ass.
^This. No matter what SE does there will always be a highly vocal and self-entitled group of players who will endlessly whine and complain about it, simply for the sake of complaining. And they wonder why SE ignores these people.
And in regards to the OP, no, I am not unsubing, I've been with FFXIV since 1.0, I'm a Legacy member with my name in the end credits, I was an ARR Alpha and Beta tester, and I'm just having far too much fun. If I was able to stick with FFXI despite it's massive faults for nearly a decade, then the tiny issues with ARR (which are just minor quality of life things) are nothing to me. I love ARR too much. :)
I haven't start farming for Atma yet as I'm busy with other things that been added, but I will try farming for it soon and if it's so bad as some make it seem I may just wait for a "nerf" XD Can go for other weapons meanwhile...
Not going to spam lvl 3 FATEs ( > . >
No, I don't feel like unsubscribing, I'm still fairly new to this game, and am really enjoying it. I feel yours and other people's pain about FATE grinding (yes, literally, after having to peel my Lala off the floor after being trampled to death by a load of people rushing to a FATE >.<), is there any other ways to grind for ATMA? I like options if I have to grind stuff out :D
This Atma thing is really beginning to upset me.
They better fix these drop rates or they're going to have a very angry fanbase.
Um you said Titan Ex is impossible HAHAHAHA.....Titan EX is actually easier than titan Hard Mode. I mean Titan Hard mode is fought at a far faster pace than Ex, and on top Ex being slower all but 2 of his skill have a long TP bar build up added with the fact titan does damn near the exact same rotation over and over c'mon man the echo buff is a insult to gamers skill level seeing as the EX version is dang near a nerf of HM when you look at both in total tier for tier.
Perhaps but igot 4 atams so far and its been more like 1 atma per day, ican live with that.
And dont farm 5 to 7 hours, I do something else between this.
even thought drop rate is terrible but meh really? you will to get it done aswell.
tips farm is get myths aswell for the next step :)
But no i wont unsubscribing beacuse they added abit fate farm.
Only if they don't fix the instance lag. They put too much importance on dungeons to leave them this unplayable.
My subscription expire next week and the only thing that would make me quit this game it's the damn lag. As for the Atma grind i think they should have realized by now that a lot of people didn't like it and they will probably come with some good idea in the next small patch (2.25 i think?)
But even if they don't change it i would just stick with my relic/zenith weapons and wait for the next patch when they will probably increase the drop rate for the casual players to catch up (it's always like this), until then i'll keep playing the rest of the content and work on the rest of my gear.
Sorry but if anyone in the game can get their atmas in less than one week, it's anything but a "mindless grind". God forbid it takes you several days to upgrade your gear.
Hey thanks for the tips. I joined Tonberry because I play from Australia, Japan has lower pings. Tonberry is supposed to have the biggest aussie community.
I thought about selecting other languages but then thought it might be bit rude. I'll give it a go when I get home this afternoon.
And thanks for not shooting me down in flames. ** A nice surprise *** :)
Thanks for the reply. I realise that Tanks and Healers have a very short queue. I just don't know if I can cope with the grief you get by playing one. I'd like to get better at the game in general before I take on one of those roles.
My real issue is that you HAVE to do these group quest to progress.
Cheers.
