I was doing brayflox last night and the lag was so bad the bombs wouldn't move on the last boss.. then all of a sudden they would all go off and we died.
I got several 90k's yesterday, and I've been receiving lag in dungeons too, especially Lost City of Amdapor.
Aurum Vale is still unplayable.
At the 2nd boss when he does 100-tonne swing/swipe, I would move out to the other side of the room and still hit me for 6000~. This is really frustrating.

I just had an awesome experience... Was PLD in CT, at the last boss, i was in one of those grab-hand-thingys when they killed the boss. Cutscene plays, we beat him. And i'm still locked in place with the DoT ticking away (didn't kill me, my auto-regen was stronger than the DoT) and unable to use any skill (like return). Had to use duty finder menue to leave, or i would still be standing there.
Since launch the servers have been laughable. They only put a few bandaids on it, but never fixed the actual problems. There are still ISPs that have horrible routes to their game servers as well, and nothing is done to fix it.
Their Montreal Server (where the game servers connect to) is just horrible. I can't believe this is the quality of the servers with a pay model of 15$ when the player base for the amount of servers is so low compared to other triple A MMOs.
I mean, ffs, they are so cheap that they have all HoT / DoT on the same global timer... thats 1990's type stuff. Now they get 2$ more a month if you want another retainer... and for what? This is getting out of hand for the quality that they give us.
pretty much servers been horrible mostly everyone even ppl on japan servers. but they are aware of it otherwise they wouldnt of posted.

having a ton of teleporting people which is hilarious in dungeons but i a terrified of doing Titan atm.
We don't need an investigation. It's pretty obvious that the servers are having a heavy load just since the weekend started because more people are playing the new content (namely, farming tomes, doing the new dungeons, farming Coil or doing the new turns, etc.). We pay a subscription to have a proper service, not to have to deal with this every so often. Maybe they want to win time to see if people stop logging in at once so that they don't have to improve anything, but I'm wondering what's going to happen on tuesdays now.
But, of course, it seems that it's more important to add "additional" services like paid retainers, instead of getting better servers with the money that we already paid and still pay them. I'm not angry, but it's starting to get very tiring to see all this. And I'm not alone on this, as almost no one from my FC has played this eve because of the lag.
I've been having this specific lag since some point after 2.16. I thought it was just me, but today my partner and I had to abandon guildhests and finally playing altogether because everyone we partied with was having constant disconnect issues (aka the red icon of doom) and eventually it carried on to outside the instances.
The problem now seems to be leaking into our server here on Cactuar so the problem is just getting worse and now they have to take down the servers because the issue is becoming wide spread problem and if not fixed soon then it could just escalate and become even worse then it is now.
I can't even play this garbage there is so much server lag....
2.2 is a fail. lol
So far 2.2 has two significant issues that others have also seen probably:
1. The lag
For me, it's non-existent in 8-man duties and when I'm playing solo outside the Duty Finder, in 4-man parties though is the delays, unable to open or click on key items, skill combos messing up, a delay when starting a duty(the moment when you need to confirm that you're there and ready takes 5-10 seconds to show up).
2. Infinite loading screens
Since a lot of people came back to the game, I've actually tried waiting to zone into Mor Dhona and a few other places, sat there for about 15-20 minutes before I just decided to restart my game. Happened in Titan HM, the end of my first Brayflox HM run, which the timer for the treasure ended just before I got back too ha, and other places.
Once these issues get fixed, it will be a lot more enjoyable.
The lag from doing those new hard mode dungeons were terrible. Thankfully, I was able to clear them with a few wipes, include one today via Daily Roulette. The delay on my combos were a pain from time to time. Hopefully Square can address the major issue this coming week or the next. Anything beyond that will be unacceptable.
I agree once the issues are fixed it will more enjoyable. I didn't make this thread to bash or slander SE I love the game and the 2.2 patch. I was just wanting to know if i was the only one having lag issues. But it looks like i'm not the only one. like i said I hope it get fixed soon but I know they are working on it.
This is just terrible. I can't even summon my mount.
Add me to the list. Did all 3 of the new 4 mans for the first time this am with a FC mate - only one had a fairly stable connection. I'm really looking forward to enjoying this content once the server issues get a little more sorted.
My FC tried running Halatali hard mode. We were doing ok until we got to the second boss, and then we had to quit because the lag made it impossible. Heals weren't going off in time, we couldn't click the orbs, cooldowns weren't firing off, etc.
From what we did get through, it seems like a fun dungeon. I hope we get to play it without lag sometime soon. :p
The lag is so bad that I refuse to do any of the new dungeons until its fixed. How the hell can you doge a AOE that happened 3 or 4 seconds ago. I thought for sure they would be taking the servers down this weekend to fix the lag. I sure hope they get this fixed before PS4 beta!

Definitely not one to trip about bugs because I know they will be fixed eventually, but the lag in the ruins of amdapor is beyond ridiculous!! Combos weren't connecting, animations for my attacks would start but then stop and the gcd would reset, and Diablo boss mechanics had a 5-8 second delay which made us wipe 5 times.
Ridiculous. On behalf of everyone having issues with this and all the other new dungeons. .. FIX THIS LAG ISSUE. .. please.
Trust me... this HAS to be fixed. Ran Halatali HM earlier today and my party couldn't make it past the second boss. We'd try to click the orbs and it seemed like every time at least two of us experienced a 10 second delay. Healer kept dying from not being able to move out of AoE on time (not his/her fault btw) eventually we just agreed to abandon. Lucky for me I capped soldiery already this week. My heart goes out to those of you still working on that.
Nice to see it wasn't just me. I normally never have lag issues, but it was truly awful today.
The lag was truly horrible across the board. When my Greased Lightning stacks disappear right after obtaining them because not a single combo will continue, yeah...it's pretty bad.
Not sure what y'all are talking about. I haven't seen anything that different to how it normally is for me, that being always getting hit by stuff that I dodged 2-3s ago.
From most of the descriptions here of the lag that people are experiencing, well all I can say is, welcome to what it's been like for some of us since game release....
The server lag is really bad in DF. It'll be O.K for a bit then suddenly none of my heals will land for a few seconds. The cast bar will fill, I'll see myself use the cast but the heal wont land. Also I'll use swiftcast, then holy, and the swiftcast will be used but holy wont go off. :|

Another thing I've noticed is my moves will be interrupted even if I'm standing still, my target isn't moving and nothing is hitting me. Sometimes it'll happen twice in a row.
Same with my Flare > Convert > Swift > Flare combo. Even if I'm extremely patient and wait 1 to 1.5s before using Convert nothing will happen and then I'll hit Swiftcast and it'll register like there's no problem at all.. and then I'm sitting at 0 MP unable to do anything so I hit Transpose, which also works, and then suddenly Convert: + 815 mp pops up over my character, loooolllll.... It's really weird.
It's really, really bad in dungeons and guildhests, not just for me, but for the people I'm with as well. In Coil and trials I haven't noticed any notable lag though, probably because it's all on different instance servers.

Yeah. No. Apparently this is a pretty widespread thing. My last ifrit run was damned terrible. I was getting out of range of the aoes before the ground effects even spawned for me and still taking hits in the face. Absolutely insane. And casting spells? lolnope. Cast, wait for cast bar to finish, move, interrupted. Go to cast again, interrupted instantly because the game apparently hadn't noticed I'd stopped moving yet.
I like how there's still a few of the SE defence squad in here saying there's no lag and to check your connection and pc after they have already made a statement that instance servers are lagging.
I feel this goes under a little, so I would like to emphasise it again:
the lag not only happens in Instances. (And certainly not just in 'some' instances.) It happens in instances the most, but it also carries over to the open world. Loading screens that take five to ten minutes, mounts not appearing until 30 seconds after the summoning was supposedly completed, names and labels not loading for seconds, etc.
Maybe it is a side effect of the instance servers crapping out, maybe not. Either way it's not an instance-only problem.

It's worth noting that I lag all the time, this is a combo between net and my computer. I'm lagging slightly more then usual now, though it isn't much more detrimental then usual unless lots of stuff is happening on screen, then it's obvious drops and I'm hammering my keys trying to do the thing.
That said, at stupid o'clock in the morning today, I did various runs because yea tomes, and a bunch of whms and tanks I encountered were red circling, teleporting because lag, and in the last case, whm was eating pew pew death lazors dispite running away before the target was even showing on him. Other people had problems too, but not as bad as that....Yea, it's a really bad problem, hopefully it gets fixed soon. :(
It's that bad that the only thing that I can do without lagging now is either CT or Gilgamesh.
The lag is preventing me from progressing in the game. Please let me get through AV and let me catch up with the rest of my FC!

I was expecting they would have fixed that by now... guess not, tried to do roulette again today and still lagging pretty bad. I was planning to catch up with the tomes this weekend since i can't play much during the week but it seems i won't be able to.
Lag here too. Dodging is usually very easy for me as I use fists of wind as a monk but since patch I had a few occasions where I'm definately out of range or direction and still get hit or KO'd. Another thing I've noticed (and so did a FC member last night) is that with enough buffs for skill speed to be realy fast teh server just cant keep up at all and so our attacks just get cancelled or have no affect. Tbh even as a BLM doing my own instances I was having that issue but its worse when you've actually put in the effort into buffs so you can burn a boss.
Well, I got a tiny bit of lag, only on loading screens, but nothing to the degree that some people are claiming in dungeons. Though the tank I had was teleporting all over and d/cing, everyone else was fine. Like all the big lag related issues I've seen people complain about, it seems to only be a portion of people getting it while others don't as bad.
Past couple of nights, I have done AV without lag and it seems to be pretty much gone.
