Zodiac Weapon Fates

oh come on...first ppl complain about relic is to easy no effort bla bla bla and now they complain it is to much work ? I mean serious even if it is FATE farm, this is what you ppl asking for so suck it up

I am all for something taking work and being difficult. I would say that this isn't what I wanted though. Work to me doesn't equal watching netflix while running to fates and spamming flash.

but you want long farm and grind right ? so there it is, since when grind & farm are fun anyway ? if spam flash is boring, just staring at the monitor and dmg the mobs with your combo or you want to staring at monitor and kill 500 mobs/item ? but either way you still and will complain

I never said I wanted long farm or grind, thank you. I want fun and challenge that isn't a "gimme now" bit. It doesn't have to be instant gratification or a huge grind with no in-between and no other options that would provide a challenge/be engaging.

On topic, has anyone gotten the maiden atma from Central Thanalan? Have reports of folks that got the scales just fine, some even getting 2 scales, but none of anyone getting maiden. We're thinking it's a typo (none of the areas are home to two atmas)

It's like I never stopped leveling off fates.

The item has a chance to drop from any fate in the zone. Don't cut your chances by just grinding the boss fates.

My party was beginning to wonder this same thing. We've got a few scales from here. It took me roughly 55 fates in Southern Thanalan to get my Atma of the Scorpion so I understand it can take a while, but so far there have been zero Atmas of the Maiden from Central Thanalan. We've done at least 250 combined fates in Central.

As I was typing this I had someone in my FC say they found Atma of the Maiden in Central Shroud. I can't confirm it, but for what its worth there ya go.

Thanks, I still haven't even found scales yet. Even made sure I had shield and sword zenith stuff equipped.. and definitely getting gold. That's RNG for ya though. One guy in our zone chat has two scales, I'm jealous, lol

I"ve heard it came from Central Shroud, and it is indeed a typo.

Plus the patch notes say:

"Atma of the Maiden The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in the Central Shroud."

My FC Mate has two scales.. If only we could trade :/

My mistake. He did indeed get it from Central Shroud *not* South Shroud.

Sorry I'm tired. He got Atma of the Maiden from Central Shroud

I have gotten 3 scales in central thanalan so far while my fc member in same party has gotten nothing

I obtained Atma of the Archer from North Shroud "Smells like tree spirit" lvl 37 FATE.

Obtained 2nd : Atma of the Goat from East Shroud "Collecting Keepsakes" lvl 37 (or was it 40) FATE.

ican understand fate but then should be able to do it with any class to gain exp :/

Maiden is in Central Shroud... It's a mis-translation in the quest text.
Other languages have it right, and the patch notes have it right.

As far as I could read, any of the FATEs in a designated zone has a chance to drop the Atma.
You will have to be on the job and have your Zenith equiped though, as far as I could read.

All of them can.

Im just looking for clarification, I've been doing the fates for several hours now ( not complaining) just thinking because normally I have the allagan shield equipped instead of the relic shield would this reduce my chances or not even allow it to drop?

Do you get the atma for completing the FATE? Or does it drop from the mobs?? Did it for a couple of hours and didn't get anything.

the drop rate is low ._. did tons of fates and 0 drops so far.

why ppl get more than 1 drop? any clue ? maybe we gonna need more of the same atma to upgrade later on?

They will also be the first people to complain about how there's nothing to do :)

grinding stuff with random drop rates is not a good thing to do. the relic quest portion where you have to kill 8 x 3 sets of mobs is much better, at least there's a solid objective where each kill gets you closer to the goal and you actually have an objective to find the right mobs to kill.

from what i've heard, you're going to be disappointed the later parts is supposed to make you grind out regular mobs.

and my complaint wasn't with FATEs, it's that the FATEs have a low drop rates. and i don't want the quest to be just do 12 FATEs, that's quite easy but random drop rates suck.

i would be fine if the objective was complete every FATE in the game once with the weapon equipped.

7 hours of farming later... still 2 atmas. Awesome.

i'd use both zeniths just to be safe, unless you use the allagan for testing purposes.

Question, if anyone has completed all of the atmas for their relic, (I know there has to be one super dedicated person out there....) I was wondering if you were able to start a second zodiac quest for a zenith? Since it's in phases, you bring a zenith and start the quest to turn it into an atmas...I was thinking maybe it was possible to start a second zenith into an atmas once the first one has all of the fate atmas collected.

Please let me know, I'm just wondering because I'm trying to figure out which relic to spend the time on...

I just got my first Atma of the Archer and it was from "Smells like tree spirit" lvl 37 FATE as mentioned earlier in this thread by someone else.

Quick question for those who have been doing the fates:

Do you have to actually Win the fate in order to get the Atma that you've seen? Or you can you just participate without winning it? Say for example if you came upon a fate that had 2 minutes left, and you couldn't quite kill whatever it was fast enough, would you still be able to get the Atma?

Also this has to be done WITH your Relic+1 Weapon equipped correct?
