The specific level is conjecture. They have said the ilevel was greatly increased though. So regardless of knowing the actual number or not we know that the main stats will outshine all substats when the ilvl jumps. Even now if I go from i70 to i80 on a piece it's almost universally better to go i80 in almost all instances. There are very few exceptions to this rule. So without knowing the numbers we can very saftely assume that higher ilvl > i90 BiS.
This is exactly my current assumption. Using 70 Darklight as a base we can make some decent assumptions. At i70 we had matching HQ gear to use. Then i80 from Ultima/CT. Then i90 from Myth/Coil followed up with i95 weapons. So from i70 we only go up 20 levels. Assuming i90 is the new Darklight we can assume that the new crafted gears will be comparable in ilvl, new ct is i100, and new coil is i110. It could clearly go higher, but I feel confident this is a decent baseline for us to assume from.
Right my question is why are you assuming new crafted is i90? We have 2 full sets of gear already which can be viewed as similar to ak gear before the hm and Sirius. Your basic i60 gear is now i90. Meaning your first time and crafted would be a step up.
Granted I realize we are all speculating. Just thought process digging at this point.
Uncapped Myth = Unlimited supply instead of being locked out a week = What you can do with Philo as of now = When new crafted gear comes out it will also be i90 because why would stuff you buy with MYTHOLOGY (i90) tomes be less than i90?
Myth being uncapped does mean it's the new philo, much like philo is the standard for starter gear of vanilla content i90 myth and/or crafted will be the standard for 2.2 content, i.e Coil 6-9..so how is it any different from Philo at that point?
The live letter at end of January he said there would be one...so...I'd also like to know where you seen him say two.
Q15: Please tell us the difficulty and average item level needed to participate in Amdapor Township dungeon.
A15: It will be more difficult than the dungeons added in patch 2.1. We are planning to add a new type of Allagan tomestone, so it will be a difficulty on par for that. On the other hand, there has been feedback that Pharos Sirius is too difficult, so we will be making adjustments.
it is going to be the new baseline, for top tier raiders, as it will be the easiest high level gear and most likely the minimum for turns 6-9.
and crafted might be prioritized because of the reasons why people sometimes pass up darklight: melds. you have more options because of materia.
New 2.2 Coil gear > Your ilvl 90 set
New crafted ilvl90 gear (Can be penta melded)> Your ilvl 90 set
Easy peesy. Dont need a wall of text to figure that out.
You also all forgot the (probably) i110 relics. Confirmed that relic will continue to level with us, and not just become nothing.
With the new tomes (probably 300/ week cap) it will only be just over a week (well the patch is coming Thursday, so just under a week actually) before people can upgrade head, hands, feet, belt, or any jewelry. At that point BiS gets pretty muddy, nevermind that accuracy caps might dictate a completely different BiS than we have right now. New tome gear and anything from Coil 2 will invariably be better than anything you currently have. Crafted gear will be similar but also invariably better than all the current gear (except Allagan weapon) because you'll be able to meld it with all secondary stats/ max out the ones you want to get a bit more damage/ healing/ parrying, and VIT for nontanks.
Current BiS will pretty much go out the window. It will be like another poster said. Nobody bothered finding exactly the BiS i70 gear over the past few months because you could already get i90 gear. i110 (specualtion) gear will be available very quickly. The focus will shift to 'biggest bang for your buck' while people start upgrading their gear again. Available BiS for each player will shift with every upgrade.
I'll personally go with i90 mage/healer accessories, prioritize VIT, then acc, then crit, and might bypass the i110 mage/healer accessories completely, or for a damn long time anyways.
Because for Scholar, I value the VIT more than the small MND difference, and for Summoner even more - since it does affect Titan-egi's HP (and thus it's Sustain healing, too). If I ever play White Mage seriously, I'll probably value the VIT equally (a dead white mage is not more efficient). Only Black Mage doesn't really care imo. I'll get acc so I have enough for BLM and SMN, even if the healers don't really need it. And I'm a crit whore.
