This should be no problem.
We can register our 2nd homepoint in the city. Teleport from city to housing area is for free with the city intern aetherite system.

No, because it would 'tag' you as 'someone with a token' and tell people something about your account. And even if you never displayed it in game, all your minions etc are observable on your lodestone profile. You already can tell how people bill for their accounts/if they've maintained an active sub.when they started etc. roughly by looking at their mounts/minions. This would just be another 'hey I have this type of account!' advertisement.

As of patch 2.2, when logged into the game with a one-time password, you will have the option to designate one aetheryte of your choice as a free destination. Teleporting to your free destination will incur no gil fee. Moreover, you may change your free destination as many times as desired.

So basically, we are encouraged to change our destination before we teleport to make every teleport cast free?

I'd imagine they thought of this already and have it work like the current discount system, Favorites. You can't just change it whenever you want, have to pick which ones while at an aetheryte.

It is highly likely that it will work similar to setting an Aetheryte to 'favorite' where you cut in half the cost of going there. If you 'favorite' the city where your house is currently it halves the cost of porting to your house as well. I suspect that something similar will happen where if you set the 'free' teleport to the major city where your house is, it will be free to teleport there.

Your FC House Mini-Aetheryte always counts as a Favorited Destination no matter where you set your other three.

It's been tossed around a bunch of times but you can run any app you want (including the free Software Token App) on PC using Bluestacks. Set it all up yesterday and it worked just fine.

I am assuming

we get 50 tickets and each time we use them we get to register a free destination of our choosing to teleport to for FREE every time.

Too bad that there are still going to be people out there will refuse to get a security token regardless of incentives. They will continue to believe that their internet habits are far too awesome to compromise their gaming accounts, much less their computers.

I don't think they work like that at all. Not unlike when the token was first announced for XI along with it's bonus, this is likely a permanent bonus so long as you use a token of some sort. It's not like the aetheryte tickets at all, it's just one free destination assigned while at an aetheryte. The tickets are used at the time of teleport whether you're at an aetheryte or not, making them far more adaptable.

I'm pretty upset since I can't make use of this feature because I own a Windows Phone...

I'm a Windows Phone developer...would gladly work with SE to make this app for Windows Phone if they were interested...I sure hope they hire someone to do it soon...hell I'd do it for free just so all us Windows Phone users could have it :)

I didn't say I was vastly disappointed, I'm speaking on behalf of those who are frustrated (which I feel for them is all). Personally, I did feel it a bit underwhelming... but that's all. And they've since corrected it, so it's whatever.

As well, it was primarily due to the fact SE literally promised something incredibly special for 360-day subscribers... and that award not fulfilling on their promise.

So please 1) inform yourself before insulting others and 2) learn the life skill of context.
