Free porting forever seems too good to be true. If it is free forever it's gotta have a timer tied to it.

I'm going to assume it's consumed in the same way a minion is consumed, once you use it on that char it's stuck to it forever.

At best, this might be like a once-per-day/week thing. But knowing SE, it will probably be a one-time use, cause SE logic.

You are all bringing this up, except none of the minions have the "this item is a consumable" note under their description. Everything is written in a way that leads to believe that the ticket is actually a one-time free travel.

They're not in the game yet, even if you have 360 days sub you won't get it until they patch it in, presumably 2.2

From how I read it. It must be in your inventory to get the free use out of it. Once you select the free use, the item is consumed in exchange for the gil and then it is gone. Once it is consumed you are no longer in possession of this item.

Based on the description given, that's how I assume the item will work. So I see it as a One time use Teleport. I don't see it the same as a minion as they give you the power to summon minions when used. The whistles don't have to be in your possession.

The descriptions for all the minions say specifically, Use to acquire Minions. The wording is different enough to make a safe assumption. The ticket seems a lot like Fantasia and Phoenix Down to me. I don't put it past SE to do something like this, they may think its a good idea, but the fans won't always agree. Like OP asks, a Mod to clarify helps. Based on description, 1 time free Teleport is all it is.

Do you guys honestly believe that the ONE YEAR reward for loyal, paying customers of a game that was once on its death bed, will be an item worth AT most 500 gil in game? Do you really think the developers are going to give an "F U" to the loyal fanbase after yoshiP said the item for the 1 year anniversary would be "very" special? At worst, this item will have a resuse/cooldown timer, at BEST, it's a waiver of the teleportation costs.

Yes i belive is just one free teleport. I haven't see any MMO that give something really usefull for a one year anniversary for free. All this give me give me people is just annoying. Free teleport for life yeah keep dreaming.

I really dont think they will give free unlimited teleport to everybody... probabky just a stack of those items

Or unless it works like the 'Reduced Rates' Free Company action already in the game, which has the effect last for 24 hours? This is just my speculation though so I'm most probably wrong. :p

It's either going to be a one time use, or a re-usable item with a stupidly insane cooldown. There is no way possible it would be that cool as to be free ports forever. Just look at how company housing came out as such a huge gil sink the whole world of Eorzea could fall into it like a black hole.

Usable once every couple of hours even sounds too sweet. We're probably looking at a free teleport once every 6 hours if we're extremely lucky. Hell.. 18 hours sounds about right. Make that 24.. Yeah.. once every 24 hours is probably definitally it.

ok ok.. last time. I'm gonna bet on once a week here because it sounds stupid and extreme and therefore is probably right.

i don't know...i kinda like the idea of "hey, you have been playing for a year now! here's a ticket that lets you teleport anywhere for free ad infinitum!"

disrupts a gil sink, but housing is coming soon anyway.

The reward is the Odin Minion. Teleport Ticket is irrelevant.

The Aetheryte Ticket is either going to be the best or the worst "subscription reward" we've gotten so far. In the worst case player's will feel cheated and angry over such a lame "non-reward." (200-500gil /joy) At best we are looking at free Teleport's forever. Something of this magnitude would have player's purchasing a "6 month subscription" just to obtain this reward earlier. Money in SE's pocket.

In either case I don't see this reward as irrelevant.

I agree that this would make SE loads of money with 6-7 month players buying the next 6 months early and even new players jumping in directly at 12 months.

They can't. Max you can sub for is 180 days.

I thought you could stack crysta and time cards?

It's free teleport for 1 year. (most likely)
It's 1 time use (Why not just give us 500g?)
It's Free teleports infinite (not likely)
It's free teleport x (X number of charges)
It's free teleports for a month (unlikely)

You can, but you can't go over 180 days on your subscription. You have to wait until you have 120 days remaining or less to add another 60 day card.

Could be something that allow you to have another free homepoint.

Or something that gives you free teleport, but only if you TP at City States ? (In french there is the word "Urbain" in the name, wich means related to the city)

Anyhow, 1 free TP would be pointless. And free TP forerer is a bit too much for "only" 1 year.

1. I can't get this "teleport" reward until after I've been playing for 6 months.
2. After 6 months of gameplay, gil is no longer an issue.

1. yes but "paying" instead of "playing". You get it the momement your account reach 12 month payment, even if you pay for 3 months at the 9th month.

Those demanding a rep response, it's currently the weekend. Rarely do they give replies on the weekend. Wait a day or two before anticipating/demanding a response.

Really hoping it's an ongoing reward, even on a timer. I'm sure I've seen consumed on use references on in game items that give ongoing effects (can't remember what but I'm thinking mount calling items or minions or something along those lines) so hopefully this is along the same veins: use it and it stops being an item but unlocks the ability for the character. Hopefully we'll get a response as soon as the reps get back to work next week but we might just have to wait and see.

Minion's description said use to gain the ability to summon.

None of the Summoning items for mounts say that you have to have the item on you to gain the effect either. The Ticket says you must have the item on you to gain the effect. Once you use it, the item is gone. Since you have to have the item on you and since you have to use it to get the effect, its a one time use item.

This is one of those situations where I'm thinking something along the lines of "gee this sounds like absolute trash but se will come through and explain what it really is and make it worthwhile." Let us hope for a mod response on Monday.

That's what I was thinking as well (1 day left on sub.) However, the Aetheryte Ticket item doesn't appear to be in the game yet. It's not on the Lodestone or the FFXIV Database. Like a previous poster mentioned "It probably won't be added until 2.2." The 360 and 450 day "Subscription Rewards" haven't been updated on the Mog Station yet either.

You are limited to a max of 180 days subscriptions time with time cards too. If you have 121 days or more you can't add another card until you drop to 120. People with the 180 recurring plan should be hitting 360 with their next payment. You don't have to wait for days to elapse to get the rewards - they are given the moment you pay for the sub.

Time cards didn't seem worth it to me. Legacy price for 40 characters is $9.99 or $7.99 a month for 6 months. However the cards are $30 for 2 months. Should of just made those add money to your account its not really good at all for legacy people. The only reason to buy them was to get rewards early but its just way more expensive.

Oh no, legacy people are have to pay normal price? That are very sad!
