Meh, not surprising.
I for one, am stoked at the look of that sword. Not sure why people want just typical sword displays. It's as if some of us want to escape the sense of realism...Oh wait, that makes no sense.

You're right. That's about as good of an angle as I can get from the video. Doesn't excite me like the Dual Haken did but we'll see. On another note, that sword looks awesome. Glad I leveled PLD. xD Might level bard just for that bow and white mage for that staff.
the bigger the weapon is, the better (like everything ;) )
Ahhh I want that sword baby!
Can someone upload a good image of the whm outfit + weapon?
Image of the Monk Weapon?

EDIT: you're right below is what I could catch for the actual monk weapon

Watch the video again...the MNK has claws for the next Allagan
EDIT: Here's a better image of that scene (stealing from Dervy)

Spear on left, Axe on right
Probably anything that isn't poop, rustic, dark red colours is AF2 gear. Cuz the coil gears are so dull and muddy when put side by side.
It also probs won't be crafted gear cuz u know....... How the designs of other crafted stuff turned out.. Cough vanya, darksteel, gryph lol.
DoH/ DoL crafted will look nice but 80% sure DoW/ DoM gear will look dull compared to their coil and AF2 brethren.
There were only a few interesting crafted gear that had unique models ; i.e glacial, highland, imperial operative hat? <- meh
Also ppl will be charging the big bucks again lol.. Housing or gear?
the DRG weapon looks epic!!!
The gear in the upcoming patch is gorgeous. Particularly the pieces shown off on the Gerolt's Masterworks page. I've liked everything new I've seen though.
I am wondering why the Relic +2 does not glow...any theories??? Do you think this is in response to some players saying they did not like the weapon to glow...I love that effect personally and will miss it if they indeed took it away. Love the new Bard gear except for the hat...are we playing in the middle east or what?????
All the gear looks amazing...I wonder how long it is going to take to save up...3 weeks again for main pieces???? I guess I better hurry and get T5 down so that I can get some T6-9 Drops.
Looks so amazing.
I am getting so excited again for this patch...I want to kick Leviathans butt already...LOL
What are everyone's thoughts on if we will 1. Do a quest line again for the new RELIC or 2. We just have to save the new tomes to "buy it"...that would seem very underwhelming to me. The way Yoshi said it makes it sound like it is going to be a new quest line (probably a lot harder this time around) since I think he says "uncover it's true potential" or something like that. NicE!!!!!
The "potential" new relic weapons probably don't glow because they're saving that for the upgrade. >_>;
As for how hard they'll be to obtain. In a recent interview Yoshi-P mentioned that the game is lacking some long term goals and that this patch would introduce some content towards that, but I'm not sure if he was talking about relic weapons. I think it's much more likely that the new relic weapons will have the same purpose as the current ones, aka, they'll be the second best weapon that you can obtain with tomestone items while Coil gear will continue to be the best.
Keep em coming!
This made me laugh.
I am really excited to see how we go about earning these new weapons and armors. I wonder if Leviathan (Hard and X) have anything to do with them.
Perfect timing since we will get Mirage too :3
We already know the Bard set does not match up with the concept art for Bard AF2, and thus can assume the other sets will not either.
I think he deals with Relics; and Artifact and Relic sets are two different things.
Based on the flavour text, I'm really hoping this new armor turns out to be similar to all the "broken" gear we get in the mid-level dungeons (Cutter's Cry/etc.).
Get the artifacts from Rowena, or some other means with Rowena providing simple crafting materials.Quote:
Those who would possess true power would do well to seek those artifacts that bear this mark.
Crafters use it to "forge" his works, then sell them on. With the only real difference being the artifacts cannot be melded, while the forgeries can be.Quote:
And yet in recent days, an ever-increasing number of arms seemingly forged by his hand have surfaced. Could this be a sign of Gerolt's return, or merely the work of a forger who would shamelessly exploit the master's name for his own ill gain?
Leviathan weapons have that blue hint (maybe?)

With text from the Gerlot Page: "Rowena, the maven of munitions at Revenant's Toll, espouses that proof of an item's authenticity can be found in Gerolt's signature─the mark of Rhalgr, breaker of worlds─and indeed, the master's fervor for the god of destruction in his early years is widely known. Those who would possess true power would do well to seek those artifacts that bear this mark".
Check the center of the blade. The Mark of Rhalgr is plainly on it.
These look good but I hope they're not the new AF/Relic items. I dunno, I expect relic stuff to be prettier, flashier or just more iconic. These look like random high-rank adventurer things. Love the BRD one but I prefer the original concept for AF2 we saw on paper in a previous live letter.
So they're giving more use to the old shirtless bald guy, apart from sending us on Relic quests. One-at-a-time -shakes fist- That's good :) Maybe that's how the master crafter recipes tie in as he's a master crafter in a way too. Fingers crossed that it's not just another kill this in an arena, then this in another arena, then thiiiiis in yet another arena and talk to me to get your stuff.
When are we seeing these Gerolt weapons then?
