5. INTERRUPTION TO THE SERVICE
From time to time, in order to provide our customers with the optimal gaming experience, it is necessary for Square Enix to conduct routine maintenance on the computers and/or servers that support the Game. During these times, access to the Game or support services may be interrupted. Access may also be temporarily suspended in whole or in part, without notice, due to emergency repairs, fire, flood, explosion, war, strike, embargo, governmental action or failure to act, the act of any civil or military authority, act of God, or by any other causes beyond Square Enix's control, or any other reasons for which Square Enix, in its sole discretion, deems that temporary suspension is necessary. You acknowledge that disruptions of service may occur and waive any causes of action against Square Enix in any way arising from or related to any such disruptions of service.

A little maturity goes a long way.
The problems encountered today are a completey different set of problems that the BETA was designed to find/cause and fix. (As is the reason for holding a BETA if you'd forgotten). Don't confuse yourself into thinking that "The lag I got on the first day of the BETA" is even remotely connected to the Primal Centre Database errors today.
The machines, nor the code being ran is flawless, it can take one simple calculation, one simply command to cause a chain reaction of problems.
It could take weeks, if not months for this to happen and you can't predict it, you can only fix/plug it and hope it doesn't happen again.
Kicking and screaming "OMG itz been months!" isn't going to fix anything", The servers in general and instanced servers have ran perfectly for weeks on end without issue, as is the Russian Roullete that is running a data-centre with a metric ton of data flowing in and out of it 24/7.
Maintenance and fixes are a must, and a constant thing. If you can't deal with the fact that the technology as well as the people who are running it aren't perfect, then you're going to have a bad time.
TL;DR Maturity and common sense pay off here. Nothing runs perfect, everything needs time to be fixed and adjusted. If you've played any MMO before you'd know this. Sit down and wait patiently, it'll be fixed.
This pretty much sums it up. So long after release and they STILL have problems like this, among other problems. I thought the game was horribly rushed out the door like all mmo launches but you'd think by NOW stuff like 90k would be fixed. Not to mention the horrible net coding. This is why is drives me nuts during betas when people say "all these problems will get fixed, it's the beta after all!" And yet they NEVER do with games like this. SE needs to fix these problems FAST while they still have the population in the game.
No chance this could be an ISP issue? I've played solid on balmung for the last two days and hardly any issues at all. Some people that have these issues in my FC say they're resolved with using wtfast
Wow. This whole issue reminds of ARR launch day.
Kicked from CT again tonight in the middle of Bone Dragon.
I just hope this issue is solved tonight during the scheduled maintenance.
It would seem that you've missed the point. You agreed to it, meaning you have to deal with it regardless of what the issue may be. If the game and or sections of it are broken and need maintenance to fix it, you as a consenting adult agreed to wait for whatever period of time they've stated. Or are you completely missing the point of a basic MMO ToS?
Would you rather them leave it and not pull it down to fix it?
Think sensibly and you'll come to the conclusion "It's better they take it offline and fix it, yes".
They are fixing this unique problem as we speak.
What I mean by this is, once you fix it, it's very likely to break again or even make it worse once you put it back up again.
As I pointed out already, this is a completley different set of problems to the one you probably encountered last week, and the week before that, and the many months before that during the BETA/ALPHA stages.
If you're having difficulty distinguishing what I mean by this, this video might help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueZ6tvqhk8U
A memory leak is completely different problem from a database error, so why would you lump them into the same category of "OMG SE fix this".
If you were expecting an MMO to have a flawless 24/7, one month solid without issue status, then you're never going to find an MMO you're happy with.
WOW, Guild Wars 2, TERA, Star Wars, RIFT. EVERY single one of these MMOs has had database errors, memory corruption, memory leaks, small lines of code causing conflicts and crashes or hangs.
As a (supposedly) mature adult, you agreed to deal with these problems when they occurred, my "snarky" remark was simply pointing out that YOU agreed to deal with it, but yet here we are.
I'm sorry, but if you can't deal with a video game going down for 1-2 hours, you're going to need a priority check.
That's genuinely worrying and I'd recommend you seek further help if it's causing you (or anyone else) this amount of stress.
I have yet to find a single person I know who has left the game, because the servers have gone down for maintenance due to an error.
If you want to leave over a few bits of maintenance, you know how to cancel your subscription and un install the game, you'd be the only one loosing out here.

Sorry, double post.
We had to cancel our raid tonight once again due to everyone either getting 90k or 10105. We tried for an whole hour.
I would say you really are missing the point if you think parroting the ToS has any relevance to the topic. Any MMO ToS basically states that developers can treat their players like complete garbage if they choose to, but that doesn't necessarily mean that players will sit down and happily allow and keep paying for a game where the developers abuse it.
For example, it says right at the top of the ToS that SE can delete your character "FOR NO REASON." Now, let's just say for example, that SE decided to actually decided to ban 10% of the players in their game "for no reason" each week. Would you also come in and say "Well, this is what we signed up for, guys, so I'm OK with this. Deal with it guys!" I would imagine not.
That example is a little extreme, and obviously it's not expected to happen, but the point is that just because the ToS allows developers free reign over absolutely everything, it doesn't mean that players would actually put up with it. In fact, if developers abused their players to the fullest extent that their ToS allowed, I'm willing to bet that there's hardly any players who would put up with it. There's nothing wrong with defending SE for their actions in there's good reason to, but anyone using "hey, look, it's in the ToS!" as a legitimate argument cannot be taken seriously.
Guess we'll see how it goes tonight.. for the people saying PS4, Primal Data center has had problems weekly for roughly the last 2 months on Mondays, though yesterday was the first time its carried over to Tuesdays.. had someone in FC say he was still seeing issues after the server maintenance finished. Either way hope SE is taking note, I suspect though the problem comes from which servers they ended up grouping together into this data center.
This is the problem - SE has to redesign the game so people are more tempted to play much more than just on weekly reset. Some say "rotating" or 'staggering' reset would be better but why not design a game that doesn't need lockouts on everything thus causing an OBVIOUS sizable portion of their playbase to only play till they cap everything for the week? No one can deny that's what happens since when do we usually get the most instability?
Once the playerbase taper off again the issues will likely get resolved, since even back in the day WoW had issues with their servers when people were flooding one particular instance - It's inevitable. So basically, the true fix it to redo many aspects of this game, otherwise continue to expect and deal with problems like this as long as it promotes people spamming one particular day a week.
Still happening.
Yeah been a week now. Launcher not loading, random errors when trying to connect to the game world. The forums also tend to 404. It's launch week all over again.

All the damn time.
What do people assume 90k error is always on the game side?
It could be your ISP as well, it just writes down any server drop as 90k.
Quickly check your wifi to see if its working during a 90k.
got kicked out from Coil twice last night..........
Interesting, I haven't had this problem once.
Sorry, I don't know what Level3.net is.
The fact of the matter is, these issues (at least for me) were very rare before Patch 2.16. Now, since Monday I've been disconnected roughly 15-20 times over two evenings. The other notable aspect, is that on the rare occasion I would be kicked before Patch 2.16, upon re-logging I would almost always come back to the dungeon I was in. Now, myself, as well as many people on this forum and in my FC, are ending up completely kicked from the instance and back at their home point (Limsa for me).
So, how is this an issue with a person's internet service provider?
last night, my entire party got 90k'd at the same time in the middle of titan ex. thankfully it was only near the start pre heart, but i'd hate to see this happen during a good run of ex or t5.
I see a thread in the Japan forum that also has the 90000 error in the title, and they posted that Japanese data centers are having issues as well. Must be their internet service providers also.

Uhm maybe because SE has made posts stating the problem has been on their end. Look at the status thread on this forum.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forums/625
See all those posts the last 2 nights about technical difficulties on the Primal data center? Tell me again how it's an ISP problem.
90k error has a very, very, very long thread already and they've placed the blame more or less on ISP's. It's a complete joke and this has been going on since last Fall. It will never be fixed cause it's something out of their control they missed or too costly or down the pipeline between them and our ISP that has to do with other companies.. that they once again have no control over.
It's not our ISP.. not even close. Anyway, 90k is here to stay. I can go for days then I get it 4-6times a day. Sorry but we're stuck with it. You can search for all the endless threads on this dating back to last year and that ridiculously long ISP 90k thread and it's just insulting.
Had issues during AK yesterday. Just as well, wasn't a good run anyway.
As an IT person, I know my experience, these kind of things are a pita to trouble shoot.
They're performing emergency maintenance on all worlds this morning.
