Worth a shot...I did rebuild the database, but I didn't delete the game first. I'll try that and report back...I suppose after 11PM tonight because the download won't finish before I have to go to work.

I'm trying this to. My internet isn't very fast though so It will be 4 hours at least before I can confirm if this worked or not for me.

With your PS4 system off, touch and hold the power button....at first touch it'll beep once...keep holding the button until a second beep and let go. It'll boot up safe mode and give you a list of 7 or so options....pick Rebuild Database, somewhere around the middle, I think. It won't delete anything, reset anything, etc. so it's safe to do without worrying about it.

I am also having this issue, i just rebuild ps4 and almost done redownloading I'll let you guys know if it works

It worked! Delete the beta. Rebuild database. Re-download beta!

Oh great....that sucks. Sounded like a universal fix.

I think these are proper steps:
1) Delete the Beta as well as the Updated Data
2) Rebuild Database
3) Redownload the Beta from beginning, requiring the initial update as well

Is that the steps you went through?

Yeah I did these steps actually i didn't delete saved data, im gonna try yet again I'll let you know in about 30-45min

Nope didn't work, jeeze been at this since 3 am, over 12 hours downloaded like 100gb i dont understand why always issues updating/downloading on both ps3 and ps4 for this game

I still got about 3 gb left to download. My download went down for a good 28 minutes before I saw it. Hopefully that doesn't corrupt the file.

My file doesnt get corrupted i download it in like 25 min and each time when trying to update after logging in goes to 5% then white screen, then black with error 20019 and than resets app i dont know what to do. I tried deleting the game and saved data, rebuild ps4 than redownloading twice now nothing, earlier i initialized my ps4 didnt work neither.

Same issue here. i just tried what you said it's downloading now. But i'm not thinking it'll work because yestursday i did the full PS4 initialize with OS reinstall and it did nothing. Also quick question did you guys download it using Wifi or cabled internet? i wonder if....

i opened like 10 Support cases hopefully they'll answer one lol

I've tried everything that was recommended in this thread and I'm still receiving the error.
Tried 3 times and that will be enough for now. File is to large to keep trying over and over. I am using ethernet and not on wifi if that helps with anything at all.
Will keep monitoring this thread and hopefully a fix will come soon that works for everyone.
Thanks to all the users for helping to troubleshoot this error since there has been no response from Square Enix.

Welp just tried the fresh install. Still died at 26% I'm throwing in the towel guys. You would have thought that Square Enix would have acknowledged this issue at the very least by now.

I'm trying again, will be my last try intell another fix is found.

It worked for me. I deleted game, upload data. Then i click rebuild database and installed the game. Now when I press play the opening movie scene gets stuck at the same exact moment everytime. I thought I was out of the woods but nope. So far I restarted the game four times and cutscene still freezes in the same spot.

Okay so, I deleted the game data but didnt rebuild the data base and re downloaded / installed and I made it in, past the cutscenes and character creation and made it into the game

Rebuilding the data base worked for me it's at 80% installing. Seems to be almost universal as it still hasn't worked for some people.

Still didn't work for me. Idk what the deal is

Uninstalled EVERYTHING with XIV relations from my ps4, re-downloaded, and now it's up to 57%

Well....deleted all content, Rebuilt database, downloaded again....no luck. Still crashes at same percentage.

Seems it works for some, but not all. This is a weird error....especially since we've not been provided with a description of the error to begin with....

I'll keep trying quirky things to see if something will change.

Me too on PS4, quite frustrating. Still can't log in today, attempted over 15 times, always error 20019. Sigh Square, just sigh.

Had the same problem and was waiting for a fix. For me though, just deleted the application and save data on ps4 (including save data on the cloud) and then reinstalled last night. Woke up this morning and its now working.

I was having a similar problem with the loading of the launcher...it reached 26%. After commiting to the rebuilding fix and it not working three times i almost gave up. However what worked for me though im not sure its a universal fix is that 1. I used a lan cord instead of wireless( way faster cut my time from 4 hours to one) 2. I made sure i deleted alll info of ffxiv including saved data on cloud and system storage and finally 3. once it was downloaded and installed when it was loading the setup in launcher right before it reached 26% for me i clicked on the link for the worlds list hoping somehow id avoid the error 20019....AND IT WORKED!!! Finally playing in world 6 now...hopefully maybe thatll help someone i dunno seems like you almost have to keep deleting/rebuilding/installing to fix but you could try what i did with opening the world list where ever it goes down for you good luck

I'm trying it once more. I realized that I didn't delete the FFXIV Save Data within the Online Storage. If this really is an issue with something within the save data causing an issue, this should fix it. 3 minutes left in the re-download.

3. Rebuild Database
a. to do so, turn system off. Hold power button in...keep holding until you hear a second beep. Then connect controller, and "Rebuild Database".
4. Redownload the game

Just attempted the same process, step by step: didn't work.

I am hoping you make HUD organization less complicated and also when you start a new game have the option to skip all the stuff in the beginning including tutorials. It's annoying, but I love this game so thanks for bringing it to PS4!

between this error code and the opening movie freezing I DLed the beta 3 times and finally got to making a character and playing. Makes me think something wrong with the download itself from the PSN maybe or something else not sure.

Tried rebuilding the database, and re-downloading the beta six times. It's not helped. I'll just sit this phase out before I get annoyed. Interested to know what's causing it though.
