It was posted on October 1st, if you look on the top right it says 'this post was submitted on 01 Oct 2013'.
And I actually remember that building, the doors were locked back then.

There is a staircase in a closed off area of Rowena's House of Splendors, it looks to go up quite high, it could possibly lead to the higher level.

From what I can see, there's no changes to Revenant's Toll this patch, apart from the forecaster. I did, however notice that the map on the lodestone contains an area of Rowena's House of Splendor's that isn't currently open

In the light of possible future expansions: here is an album with some screenshots from 2.35

It looks like they are expanding upwards, as well as building something in front of the gate that leads to Coerthas.
Maybe we'll see that mysterious stairway in Rowena's House of Splendor's open up too. Though whether it will be tomorrow or later we'll have to wait and see.

Gorgeous! This is exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping would accumulate in the thread. So easy to forget the days when it was a dirt path with a few tents.

This made me realize I have not been looking for changes After patch 2.38. I didn't even notice there was grass outside the gate with benches or anything! Tonight, when I finish work, when I'm done RP'ing, when I'm done Raiding, When I'm done m Ixal Dailies, I'll have to go check out Rev Toll.

Oh, also, I wanted to say I hope in light of this, that SE gives us some flashback instances, that will take us back to he origins of Rev Toll. Hell, back to the camp from 1.0, and allow us to walk around in the aea during each of it's phases. I think this would be especially neat for new players who missed out on so many of these phases. We can go back and look for our NPC's who gave us our equipment etc, like following Rowena & Auriana around the town.

When 2.38 came out, I noticed by the zone border leading to Coerthas that there's a stone archway by the border instead of a big open space.

Rowena's castle now can go to 2nd floor, although still blocked. Stair access to 2nd floor still blocked till 2.35 though.

Would suspect this opening up on 2.4. Maybe her tomestones helper would move here next.

I wonder for players who started fresh especially after 2.38, did they see Revenant Toll as it was in 2.0 and get the gradual changes as the story progresses, or they already have the current state of it?

From what I gather from our newer FC members everyone sees the same buildings but what NPCs you see shift depending on where you are in the story, so a fresh 50 wouldn't be seeing any Domans or members of Alphinaud's private army but they would be seeing all of Rowena's House of Splendors.

Fantastic album! I love how closely you've replicated the shots :) I thought the marketplace had changed, but I couldn't quite picture what had changed.

Nice album, I enjoyed it very much! However, in the description of "East of the entrance, skyline" you say that the tower between the rocks is gone, but actually is is still there and hidden by the new scaffolding (just like the building on the right) :)

You are right!
Because of the angle I thought the tower was actually wedged between the rocks but I now see that isn't the case. Thanks for the correction.

Only the Devs know whether we will be able to go upstairs one day. Though it certainly looks like we will be able to, and if we can you can be sure that the frequenters of this thread will document every inch of it.


Meanwhile, I finally finished my 2.38 album. Just in time.
The shots from a further distance are inspired by Wadoka his awesome screenshot. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a clear shot from the Crystal Tower because that blasted gloom weather.

btw, it seems that the stairs leading to upper floor at Rowena's place has been blocked again as per 2.4, can't see the glimpse of the upper floor anymore.
