Loved this update, very useful stuff too and much needed, I hope they fix the skills going off onto cool down and not doing anything within the game bug in 2.2, would be great to have that finally fixed.

Awesome, lot's of great quality of life updates and pretty stoked for the weather effects as well.

Patch brought nice surprises. From the screenshots, I like the new AoE - I just wonder how it'll behave in Southern Thanalan.
Dye preview looks really mature (confirmed bug aside), and it's quite an achievement for what would be a minor patch. And I don't have words for the happiness of being able to tank the Adjudicator while being able to see something in the arena. They should have used him for the screenshot example, not Garuda - she's small in comparison.
Alright, guess it's Wet T-shirt time again...
This patch was missing
"Adjusted experience requirement for chocobo leveling"
The grind it currently requires is just dumb. 0.1% players have a level 10 chocobo.
I like Chocobo leveling as it is :D Its nice having a variety of short, medium, and long term goals in the game. Chocobo leveling is one of only a handful of long term goals available atm and I'd hate to see that taken away. My chocobo is rank 6 now, half way to rank 7!
With the way Chocobos are designed rank 10 is at best handy to have while fating and that's about it. So no one is being gimped by not having their Chocobo at a high rank, so its almost purely about prestige, which means there's nothing wrong with only 0.1% of players having a rank ten Chocobo.
"Wet surface effects" not weather effects. Regardless though it's such a great effect for them to add. Finally. Now when it rains, character models will look wet. Awesome that they will appear wet when hit with water based attacks too. Such a great detail! Wish maintenance would end sooner so I could see it!
And still, self repairs remain completely inconvenient... /sigh
Looking quite good for a minor patch o.O
Specially that Wet effect

And Sic/Obey changes ! Excellent !
"Chocobo barding that cannot be equipped by your chocobo will now be grayed out."
Duh...?
Hmm... takes me about 30 seconds to repair all of my gear. Far less time than it would take for me to find a repair merchant and certainly a lot cheaper. Can't tell if that was a serious post or a joke.
The new AoE markers look good though. I'm guessing the AoE slowly 'fills' to match the cast time of the attack being used (judging by the inner rings) so that people have a better visual representation of when they're going to get hit by an attack. A definite plus, especially for all those Titan runs.
I was excited about our journal. I thought we'd finally be able to hide our quests completely, but we're only able to move the one we want to the top? >_> I hope we can hide them completely in 2.2..
I don't need them tracked on-screen.
You can hide them completely now by going into the UI placement screen and rightclicking the element you want to hide.
Love everything from this patch except this:
I used to hate healing and not having anyone clicked and end up healing myself a bunch and not notice I wasn't healing the right person till the last moment. Macros made it so we never had to deal with this. Very annoying hope they give us the ability to toggle this on and off.Quote:
When the /action or /petaction commands are used and a target is not specified, macros will now function in the same way as regular actions.
Example
The macro /action "Fast Blade" can now be used on targets selected with the target circle.
The macro /action "Cure" can now be used to heal oneself even if no target is present.
can someone post a screenie of wet effect? im intrested and wont be home for a few hours! Thanks XD
A patch in right direction, even with minor changes. These are quality of life, but I'm extremely happy they finally decided to add them:
- The clickable target box for characters has been enlarged.
- Mounts will now affect the size of character target boxes, as well as their target rings.
I really don't get how you can think spending 30 seconds navigating menus and changing Jobs to repair a single Jobs gear is convenient...
Self gear repairs shouldn't require changing Job at all. You should just be able to repair all your currently equipped gear, provided you have the necessary crafts/DM. That is much more convenient, you don't have to wait on cooldowns if you're in the field, you can repair in instances, and overall it would be faster than using the NPC. No idea how it's taking you so long to find a repair NPC, in a city they're seconds away, in the field they're near every aetheryte and township so seconds away again, if you're not near any of them, again, changing Job resets cooldowns, which is inconvenient. Then there is the fact that you have to navigate that gods awful menu to repair your gear. I want to repair my <Job>'s gear, as it is I have to go through all my gear (I have a lot) and select <Job>'s gear from those lists. At the very least they could add a Gear Sets option to the drop down menus...
These complaints have been around since beta, and I don't even think the developers have given a response on it yet... There is definitely room for some quality of life improvements when it comes to self repairs, that much is undeniable...
Seems like it's turned on by default. Was just in Bentbranch where it was raining. The effect is so subtle it's almost pointless... :/ I would have rather they added foot prints in the snow/sand. Oh and the cold weather breathing effect only occurs when you're standing, not when running. Cause I mean who breaths when they run anyways? Lol.
I like wish list in market wards.
-> we can see what worth to grind with demand category and we can ask other people to grind for us what we want to buy
I must have that chocobo suit. WANT.

Way to go SE, please disallow this during battle.
Repairing should be better in every way, as you need to have taken the time to grind several crafting classes up. Currently, it's only better if:
1: All your gear all needs repairs. While leveling or with different tiers of things, sometimes you will only need to repair a few things. Hunting and choosing sucks. Why not just repair all anyway? See the next one...
2: Your gear is past a certain point. There's a durability where self-repairs are wasteful, and the further past you go, the more cost efficient it is. My current tanking outfit needs to be under 59%, for example. The Menders are never wasteful, so you can repair any time you see one.
3: You're a sizeable distance from a repair NPC. And let's not kid ourselves. We're never more than a minute away from one.
If you qualify for all 3, sure, the repair system is fine. But I stopped repairing my own stuff a long time ago, as the time spent doing so isn't worth the small amount of gil saved. If I repair at 40% durability (don't wanna go into a dungeon with such a low number) I only save 445 gil or so. I can write that small amount off as well spent for not having to pay attention to all my gearsets.
They rebuilt the entire game (I thought) to make 2.0. So why couldn't they have given us the ability to repair as any class? Or at least any DoH? It's bad enough that they decided we only needed to repair our own gear.
Anyone else finding gamepad controls kind of suck now? With Cross Hotbar Controls set to Hold, there now seems to be a fairly substantial delay on letting go of the button and being able to press another button... So much so that I will hit one ability, then attempt to switch hotbar, be unable to because of the delay, and not only fail to use the ability I want, but potentially use a completely different ability instead... It is pretty damn annoying...
I'm going to be running fates until I die. Brb.
I'm already sick of the Ready Check spam, especially since you can't see who initiated it.
It's also really annoying that the rings they introduced for crafters don't have materia slots. Can my vanity gear at least be as good as the equivalent normal gear?
I love everything else though. More positives than I thought were going to be introduced.
I use a gamepad and that behavior hasn't changed for me.
I seriously thought that the Vanity system was being released with this patch O.o
It is fine the way it is. We do not really need more dumbing down, because people want to complete everything within a day. It is a longterm Goal and that is fine, what is missing is the actual possibility to reset the Stats of your Companion. But leveling is totally fine.
"Can now enable cross hotbar while using mouse and keyboard settings"
Does that mean on ps3 I can now bind abilities to kb as well as playing with controller? Or am I just being silly..
I don't know if a other ppl white this... all new things are quite good but i'm only really interest in one.... new <wait."#">
we really need that also decimal were be included and seen....
for example the first thing that i think
/ac Cure <me> <wait.2.50>
/ac Cure <me> <wait.2.50>
This is not working.... decimal are not seen so it's like
/ac Cure <me> <wait.2>
/ac Cure <me> <wait.2>
also i tried with <wait."2.5"> but not work aswell....
we cannot waste 0.5 second for each cast.... specially at high level... So please noticed that and try to solve... simply if possible... we could use <wait."#.##"> to enable decimal
