I kind of wish that the minions can hang off you shoulders. Other games have done this before.

Not sure if it was mentioned already, but the only really interesting thing I've seen happen is if you have the wolf pup and Couerl Kitten Minon out together they actually hiss and swipe at each other from time to time
Hey everyone,
While these are certainly interesting ideas, the minion system is designed around the idea of a simply cosmetic diversion that follows you around. We will continue to add more unique and fun minions with their own animations but it'll continue to be along the lines of what you've seen thus far.
They should do more like that. After I saw that I was hoping stuff like the Minion of Light would do something near another, like having the WHM one cast a cure on another or something.
EDIT: Oh wait, they are doing more like that!
Thank you Hvinire!
Related, any word on permitted us to "turn off" others' Minions from rendering?
I bet this would especially help the PS3 render quite a bit.
Aye. They are really just vanity..
I agree with Ayasu, let us summon them in dungeons.....
I'd like to have more interaction with em.
I'd be fine with more interaction. Emotes, minions mingling and reacting to one another, that sort of thing. Still purely cosmetic, but it'd make them a bit more interesting than just a summonable decoration.
More interaction for the win!
Some usefulness would be nice as well. Very rare chance for them to /slap an enemy when NOT in party for 1 damage XD. A teeny-tiny stat boost would be nice but stat altering can turn gamers into elitist rage-monsters...
Maybe a lil leg hug when you get an achievement. OR speaking of achievements... have an achievement for having a minion accompany you for "X" hours ^^
Cute thing that follows your character around and annoys you when you target, is "a point". Heh, well it is a point to me at least. I don't know how much it would take from other gameplay aspects as far as dev focus goes but I am for any variety.
While I agree a persistent buff would seem imbalancing, adding story (such as who first crafted minions backstory) and incentives (Earn x number of minions, get a prize [another minion? crown?]) ... would certainly go a long way in making people want to "catch em all", so to speak.
I mean heck, it could be a whole new side story, much like Hildebrand. I could totally get into that.
