Not Real Life so why ARE The housing Prices so Insane? Subbing to this is horrible.

Many on Legacy servers are already lvl 50 in multiple if not ALL trade crafts, gathering, and lots of classes. If someone wants something, they rarely buy it, they gather it themselves. The largest amounts of gil held on these servers are actually the RMT traders. Asking even a medium-sized free company of 20 members to cough up 50 million gil is a major undertaking.
The gil in circulation usually comes from people selling primal wins, etc. Lots of people refuse to do things like this. There are Free Companies on Balmung dedicated to getting people FREE wins. The prices are punishing people who play nicely and offer others free gear, free melds, etc. Many of the houses on Balmung are going to go unpopulated.
The price drop is only by half. It says that it will NEVER reach below 50% of the original price. I understand that a lot of the Legacy servers LOOK rich, but that money is NOT in the hands of real players. It's in the hands of gold sellers. Can this get consideration?

My FC can't even afford the cheapest lot (not including the house cost) with the 50% decrease in price. 3 months from now. It may have well as been a 2.2 feature

You touch on a great point: One of the biggest problems here isn't that "it's so expensive" (but that IS a problem) but that it's a group undertaking and ANY ONE of that group RMT'ing it up can cost EVERYONE their investment. The higher the prices, the greater the risk, on many fronts.

I like how SE was worried that RMT would use fishing to make gil, so they made it worthless, then they go and make houses batshit crazy prices, that ony gil sellers could buy, who cares if SE can shut them down, the sales they could make, is more than they'd probably make in months with just a single house.

You realise having a house is optional and provides little to no benefit. I'd rather sink 20mil into something more.... not shitty.

I removed when I saw the mistake in number my bad. I already removed it because of that. Anyways I was told it was .14% and checking that number it doesn't pan out properly either. Using .145% you get a little closer to the 90 day number but it is still higher then what SE says in their example. Mistake =/= uneducated. If I failed to see my error and continued to shovel crap then that would be warranted. But whatever.

This is the best explanation for the supposed 'whining' half of the argument. This isn't a game changing piece of equipment that has a 1% drop from a BCNM. (Kraken Club Whinjas from FF11.) And I'd like to think most of the 'whiners' are people who joined a Legacy to play with friends (or forced to stay on legacy server from playing 1.0). The legacy prices are ridiculous. Legacy players don't actually have that money. Most of it was taken from them when ARR launched. So, yes we're getting a little annoyed at the 'stop whining' comments. Let's say everyone had that money to begin with. Would you really want to pay 312mil for a house? Nobody thinks it's kind of sad that the most expensive thing in the game is going to be a house instead of equipment?..

How is this surprising? There has been tons of bad decisions on this game, that's why it had to be relaunched.

After reading the pricing for Sarg the 25mil we raised in my FC went from feeling like a fortune to a pitiful sum of money. I wonder if that FC shouting in LL is still advertising "Enough gil for large FC house come 2.1"...

That and not all of those on Balmung are from 1.0. 62 million (the price on 'new' servers) for a large, 5 star plot is reasonable for them, but not 312 million.

I understand where the OP is coming from.

The pricing for a house is about what it would be like if you were working for one IRL. It makes sense... but, this game is also supposed to accommodate players who don't have the time to treat this game like a full-time job. Considering the MAJORITY of the money you make will come directly from OTHER players buying stuff you sell, it's a problematic situation when everyone who isn't super rich will be trying to save money to get the cheapest house possible.

The price for the houses are ridiculous. Makes me regret not being one of those TITAN HM sellers. Our FC spent the last couple of months helping randoms with TITAN HM for free to combat the sellers, but looks like the joke is on us.

THIS^^ A thousand times this. The panic that these patch notes has caused is CRASHING Balmung's economy. Everyone is in a mad dash to sell everything they have. Raw material prices are being driven down so low that it's just unreal. The people who are sitting on the money that they 'claim' that we all have are going to end up waiting until everything is so low that's redonculous and then buying up everything and hording it. Then when they resell it's going to be so high no one is going to be able to afford anything! There is going to be a Depression on Balmung. I can only imagine it's the same for other Legacy servers. This is horrible!

This is a portion of the game that I will never enjoy.

Thanks for another punch in the face to the legacy players. The more days that go on, the more sure I am I SHOULD not be legacy. This is not the game I was told I supported, not the game I asked for or wanted.

If I'm still here is because I still have hope that some elements of what I liked on 1.0 will ever come back, but after seeing this decision making regarding to housing, I'm not even sure I'm gonna like ANY of the future developments of this game.

I need to cool off, but still, the fact remains the same, that each passing day I dislike the game more and more.
