If you were in charge of ffxiv for one day and could change anything.....

I would fire whoever was in charge of Security / Anti-hack for failing at a task so easily accomplished with the presence of the current infrastructure. I could literally write the code required to prevent teleport hacks in a single day. It is unacceptable that they are still present in the game.

I would add re-raise to the game, fix cure 3, make ALL gear dye-able and go on a banning spree and rid the worlds of RMT.

I'd ban a bunch of people for suspected rtm and seize millions of Gil.

I would remove/alter the solo duty events and make the game more party friendly for those who don't like to level alone. (my friend might not have quit if it had been easier for us to actually play together...)

The quest logs will also reflect the state of other party members so everyone can be aware of what stage of the quest others are on.

I'd also lock the camera so if you zoom out, it goes back to the original zoom if it hits a wall.

Probably not much, given that 1 day isn't a very long period of time when you are in charge of a substantial operation.

1. Reraise for WHM/SCH with like a 10min cooldown (can not be used with swiftcast)
2. No weakend state from healer LB3
3. Secondary stat comparisons, not just main.
4. Bazaar system like in FF11.
5. Player housing released before FC housing.
6. Remove half of the teleporting locations.
7. Rare drops from bosses that are used by crafters to imbed lets say extra stats to Allagan/Myth gear....Fast Cast +5%, Increases Thundercloud proc to 10%...you get the idea
8. Adjust food stats and potions.

For the remaining 7 hours I would drop the banhammer on bot/hackers from my server.
That is all, carry on.

Removed instanced dungeons and only have instanced content for some things not everything. Open world would be viable, no more leashes, but things that will challenge players. Loot wont be easy to obtain as it is now, players would have to work for it and not have it handed to them. Some quests for items (long term goals) and repeatable quests for building a fame type system.

Crafting hq wouldnt be easy but players would have to actually work at it more than they currently do. Crafting would be on par than dungeons minus the endgame drops.

Content would give gear with stats based on how difficult the content was. No more free rides every one would need to do their part.

Teleporting wouldnt be free but it would require more foot work than currently. Class system would be trashed for a main and sub job system so players have more choices.

Level from 1-50 would require 3 months 50- 99 another 3 months, this would give the dev team ample time to develpo meaning full content and players would blow thru it in a few weeks. Levels 1-10 would be the hand holding period after that all hand holding stops.

1. De-leveling is back
2. Mandatory party leveling
3. No more FATEs
4. Harder content
5. Make game better
6. Make game better
7. Make game better..

This... plus give males packages.... big ones.

SE won't ever go open source....
1: It would make it crazy easy for hackers to bot and find exploits
2: It would reveal just how bad some of this games code is.
3: Private Servers would open and cut into SE's profit margin HARD.

I would ramp up the difficulty lvl of fates and have boss fate fights provide a little side item

I'd add Ishgard and bring back a certain Legatus

Abolish duty server as it is now and replace it with functional instance servers that let you talk to friends through tells, view who is/isn't online in your FC/LS/friends list, summon minions while in a dungeon, and invite friends to replace someone who leaves for whatever reason.

It would be the single greatest change this game could have.

I'd probably have the pirmals and beast tribes just randomly attacking cities and outposts

how fun to have a spontaneous titan fight in Limsa with 100s of goblins running a muck at the same time.

I would change this laundry list of things.

1) De-Empasis Fates they should be a side event in this game not the focus of open world
2) Add Open world force NM spawns
3) add open world dungeons
4) make mobs in the open world that could kill a group of 4-5... you know make it where I cannot be a god and solo 10things at my level at once. Also make it where mobs make sence... not now where a level 15rat is as strong as a level 15 morbol... seriously wtf.
5) completely revamp the crafting/gathering system to make a meaningful part of the economy and game
6) add special effects to the gear to remove the ultra linear progression
7) Made side grades instead of only upgrades
8) Make content that takes along time to complete that is not just difficult to appease the hardcores with alot of time. Aka long term goals. not 1-2 week goals.
9) Add allaince based content, CT is still 8 man content.... blatant lie on the devs part here. not allaince content if no one is working together. It would be like calling FATE party based content... lolz
10) revamp the whole armory system to either 1 make classes meaningful in some way or just plain our remove them all together
11) Revamp materia system to where it does more then simply modify base stats
12) Add group based attacks... Limits are NOT GROUP BASED ATTACKS.
13) Put emphasis on guilds for endgame instead of random pug finder
14) Redefine the planed expansion layout to where it is not focused on content negation but expanding on what is already present and making a tremendous amount of relevant content. Instead of only 2-3 raids for ever at endgame.

Mainstream mmo model is garbage it really is.... until devs realize this mmo will keep failing (Or going f2p if you do not consider that a fail).

As others, I would also add a butt slider.

Need more cushion for the pushin'.

*Add in the 1.0 character voices with the current options

*Make the 1.0 Lalafell walk/run optional

*Fix Miqo'te butts, give male Lalas nipples and make the Lalafell bust slider actually significant, lol

*Bring back inertia

*Bring back XIV's equivalent to XI's skillchains (Limit Breaks are cool but don't count)
