Here's why I am excited for 2.1:

1. I get to run dungeons with friends for more EXP now! yay
2. I already mastered Titan HM so extreme modes are going to be awesome :D
3. More ways and loots to gear my other class/jobs
4. My group is working on T5 but will have a lot of stuff to do in between (we raid only twice a week)
5. Aesthetician for vanity coolness!
6. Going to do CT with my Coil Group
7. New crafting recipes!
8. Treasure hunts, dailies and oh my!

It's in one of the Q&As. Where Yoshi officially says you upgrade your relic from +1 to +2 (or whatever it will be called) by beating all primal ex modes. Making it the best weapon in the game with the new content.

You need the +1 to upgrade after the Extreme Primals :)

Well this "incredibly hard" quest chain can be done in mere hours if you have group for it, so it is already way more faster than said extreme weapons to get.

PS: Dont play for loot and instead play to master your chosen class, because even easyest classes need practice to get FULL potential out of them.

Aside get your information straight...6 months? Patch 2.2(new Coil Turns+Leviathan) is scheduled for March...2.3 (next CT part+Ramuh and Shiva)for June...

PS: You barely meet the minimum for T5 gear-wise...consider yourself carried with your lvl of gear if you go in there.

Guys, I think you're picking on Noroi_Kisaragi too much.

All he's interested in is coil and is disappointed that there won't be any new shinies for him this patch, I can understand his stance in this but it's just the way it is.
Rest assured my friend, new Coil content will be released in 2.2, in the mean time you can, as others suggest, do other content and if you don't want to you are completely free to go and play something else and decide to come back when 2.2 hits.

Just keep in mind that you are part of the minority that is actually at that level of Coil and that the current content that is released for the majority of players which, maybe to your surprise, are actually casuals.

Stone Vigil is a great dungeon with interesting bosses and overall design.
Haukke Manor (normal one) is fun, too.
Darkhold drops BDSM gear you might want to keep for laughs.

How many times have you seen people in Mor Dhona shouting for groups to do those dungeons "for fun", or how many times have you visited them yourself at level 50, not counting low-level friends asking for help? Once? Never?

You see, FFXIV is not a sandbox. It's a theme-park MMO with a gear grind treadmill. Unless players get rewards that help them grow/progress in some way, most of the time they won't bother with that content at all.

I know I will visit every new 4-man dungeon once to see the fights. Not sure about more, since I don't really need ilvl 60 loot atm and vanity system isn't due for another couple of months (if the skins are worth it anyway). Same with King Mog - why would I need a weapon I won't be using because it's inferior to relic?

Bottom line is, I kinda envy any players that bought FFXIV just now. They will have *something* to do, as opposed to anyone who's been playing from September - they will be done with that "amazing" 2.1 content within a week.

Dunno bout the others whining, but i'm two pieces short from iLvl 90, and this was my response to the video.

Most likely, it's another feature straight from WoW - you get a mount you can use exclusively for that quest, and it has a special ability that is needed to complete said quest.
Think Skyguard carpet-bombing in TBC or Ice Giant riding in WoTLK or *chuckles* giant ball of magma to roll over hordes of screaming gnomes in Cataclysm.

Crystal tower is such a fangasm for me, and pharos has this weird zombie/corrupted crystal zombie guys with guns.

Man i'm going to enjoy the new gear so much, Just messing around the city and messing around with the new house too.

I feel kinda sorry for the hardcore guys, which get everything so fast, and at the same time get bored so fast. Since i did that in FFXI I decided to go for a more chill play this time, and even like that I'm at coil already XD

2.1 is going to be so sweet! As someone who has Twintania on farming, I still find this patch will have plenty to do. Not 3 months worth of content but you do things more than once before you get bored, usually.
The primals may have some core fundamentals of the Normal and Hard mode's but there'll be changes you'll need to possibly wipe on a few times to figure them out. Then there's mastering the fight itself.

Even if you're teaming it down with your raid group or FC, it's around Christmas time so people wont be online as much due to Christmas stuff.

PvP usually keeps people in for countless hours but I'm not excited for that. In fact I hope the gear you earn from it isn't too pretty, I don't like PvP but I'll do it if the gear looks good so I can use it for vanity.

I think one of the most needed things in this update is the Beast quests, personally. The creativity in which you do a quest can push aside the thought process of it being boring, and actually to some, even fun. Like that fireball rolling Gnomecide thingy video someone posted. I have no clue what game that is, but you can tell it's damn creative!

It won't matter if they allow players to keep drakes and gobbues as mounts afterwards or not, mounted combat will be quest-exclusive anyways.
Can't have those gobbues sneezing/drakes torching stuff at will, you know.
Not that different mounts offer anything other than a "skin", since they all have the same riding speed.
