Dungeons is where it was found in the first place, before she started selling it.

i'm pretty sure the lore team would have no problem with this:
"rowena sells DL copies to adventurers, stock of DL runs out due to popularity. adventurers use them while venturing into x place. adventurers die for Y reason. we find them later, their chewed corpses still wearing said (mostly intact) armor."
I couldn't justify making a new thread for my question, and figured the Lore forums would be the best place to ask it...
So, like, what are the two keys on the BLM artifact armor for? At first I thought to open the small book strapped to my back, but I can't imagine what the second key would be for. If they're not just there for practical reasons, is there some kind of symbol I'm not picking up on?
Keys open locks. Locks hide things from common sight. Black mages seek knowledge hidden from the common folk.
My first guess would be that they're both for the book; the cover of said tome has a visible lock on it, the two keys are identical, and many simple locks do come with a pair of keys in case one is lost or broken and a new back-up must needs be made. If not, Jeni may have the right of it, as well. There are all sorts of things a black mage may want hidden; after all the whole art is destruction and power; in the wrong hands it could be a threat to you at the least and widespread disaster at worst.
Now this, in particular, I like. I'm taking this one with me.
I was trying to apply some grandiose symbolism to them in my headcanon, to avoid having them "just" be functional. I s'pose practicality doesn't have to be boring. Obviously, I'm keeping the nastiest of my incantations away from the prying eyes of the unwashed masses. The keys are simply safest on my person. I can live with that. Appreciate the input. Thank you, guys (and/or gals). :)
I know this thread is old but i would be curious to know about the Siphai gear and the blind maiden's sash it just screams to me to be known.
Well the Sipahi gear originally in 1.0 was gear obtained from chests inside the Beastmen strongholds, they were locked and you needed to farm keys for a chance at getting them. Same for Warlock and Sentinel gear. I'd say Lore-wise this gear would be gear stolen from adventurers/city-state soldiers (anyone really) who ventured in and were slain/tempered by the Beastmen. As for where they are now in dungeons, I'd say the same. It's gear from dead adventurers.
