For looks only, my favorite is Lulu. Loved her from the first artwork I saw. Vivi is a close second and Balthier as 3rd.

Here is my list. My favorite characters are not based on appearance but more on a global aspect. Was the character interesting, did he or she feel human to me. Did I feel attached to them. Or did they leave a forever lasting impression on me due to how the character acted during the entire game.

Hence why you rarely see me call most of the FF main characters interesting. Also, I mainly got tired of the cliché JRPG heroes over the many years. I sometimes even wished that FFX was based around Auron. He was way more interesting than anyone else.

I'm gonna have to go with Balthier and Fran, too. Lots of characters had great stories throughout all the series, but Balthier simply stole the show with virtually every scene he was in!

Im sure we will all go through the usual suspects here: Cloud, Squall, Sephiroth etc

I like pretty much all the FF characters but my two utmost favourites are

1) Zack - The reson I love this guy is - he is who he is - wanabe hero and tries to do the best he can with a smile on his face :P
2) Gabranth - He is just awesome... I really wish that FF12 was made about Basch and Gabranth there is such a good story there..... stupid Vaan ruining it for us all!

And early Crisis Core Sephiroth. What a nice guy.

Also, Cidolfus Orlandeau. He totally wasn't OP at all.

Final Fantasy 5: All party members.

Final Fantasy 6: Edgar, Sabin, Gogo. (Shadow doesn't make it cause he doesn't even care for his daughter.)

Final Fantasy 7: Cloud, but I do like everyone else too.

Final Fantasy 8: Irvine

Final Fantasy 9: Vivi (Only Mage I respect)

Final Fantasy 10: None.

Final Fantasy 11: Lilisettes Dad, and the General with the Hauteclaire in the Campaign battles.

Final Fantasy 13: Claire, Snow, and Sazh... I'd kill the other three if I got the chance.

I'd have to say Rydia, Cecil, Gilgamesh, Beatrix, Lightning and Fang stick out as the most memorable characters in my head, though. Now, to narrow them down some day. :p

This. And Zack wasn't a wannabe hero. He was a hero. One who also sacrificed his life, and managed to still persevere against the odds without having to be a emo-antagonist to do it. Zack is without a doubt, my favorite FF character of all time.

Squall (FF8) for me, dude was purely awesome. Personal hate: Hope (FF13-2), dudes breaks everything. Hate this guy more than Sephiroth, the juggling ****. More than Seifer, the Odin murdering mother ******!

His mom died for a lost cause over BS and the whole world literally wants him dead. Given his age, I think he handled things well considering.

honestly like almost all of the ff6 cast is amazing, that game was just extremely well done in general.

If I had to pick though i s'pose Celes and Locke are my favorites.
