My brother is a beast in MvC2 and MvC3. You should play him seriously! Hint...he likes Magnus...

Mani (Actually spelled Máni, but the game didn't seem to allow accents) is the personification of the Moon in Norse mythology. I wanted to settle for Mánagarmr (Moon-Hound), the wolf that chases the Moon until the fateful day (Ragnarök) it's devoured and Odin is killed by Fenrir, his bonds loosened. However, Mánagarmr felt a bit too long for a first name. I usually prefer my first names short. Hence Mani. :p
My surname, Moonchaser, is more or less a logical continuation of the whole wolf-chasing-moon-theme.
Also have an alt named Skoll (y u no Sköll Squeenix) Sunchaser. More or less the same deal as Mánagarmr, except Sköll chases the sun (or rather, the chariot containing the sun). :p
Pascal Rosenthal - [Pascal] came from Tales of Graces, [Rosenthal] came from a corporation from Armored Core 4/For Answer.
Ay Pool - A LYNX from Armored Core 4/For Answer. She is the pilot of Vero Nork. Plays a support role when you hire her for missions.
Moonlight Havoc - Named after an Arte used by Judith in Tales of Vesperia.
Kytheren is original and Kenni is from Star Ocean 2, perhaps my most favorite RPG of all time.
I just want to say that I'm a big fan of customization and aesthetics and when given a chance to create/name video game characters, I won't start my game until I feel my character is complete.
My character's name is Kalelius Kaldorei. Kalelius is the name of the XIV(th) Zodiac sign and a legendary hero in lore that escapes me at the moment. People born under the Kalelius sign are said to be tall and beautiful (my character is an Elezen).
Now I've been asked many, many times in-game did I get my character's last name from WoW.
No.
While searching for legendary elves in fantasy, I randomly came across the name Kaldorei. So now I have two names that I like and can't decide which to keep...so why not put them together? Thus, Kalelius Kaldorei was born.
Though sometimes my FC calls me Superman.
Waliel was something I came up with who knows how many years ago and for Hla I just hit my keyboard with my hands or something. I only remember I made a random surname to use in beta, but I liked it and it kinda stuck.
Xeval Novoxus here.
Came up with the 1st name as I played around with the spelling of one of my favorite stages in final fantasy 11 ( Castle Zvahl Baileys/Keep) since X can sound like Z in some cases I changed the spelling while still sounding the same. ( At least for years I always pronounced Zvahl like " Ze-vall" just incase others don't lol). Novoxus is a word play from a ritual yu-gi-oh card called "Novox's prayer". Naming its serious business :P , but it feels unique so I love it lol.
My first MMO character (besides my Earth and Beyond guy) was Magis (a misspelling of Magus, which was taken or I was just 12) the TaruTaru on FFXI. Later when I joined WoW the name became Magos which I used everywhere. When I started 1.0, I switched it back in honor of the old XI character... but had a terrible last name because I couldn't think of one (Tarkon). With ARR and the free name change I made it more lore friendly; Magis Luagis.
I wanted Jessica Rabbit, but I decided to go with a character form a much much worse movie when that was unavailable. (it does have Brad Pitt in it though <3)
Tonbo- Japanese for Dragonfly
Skywarp- A decepticon known for being not so bright and using his teleporting ability's for pranks.
http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/...x-Skywarp1.jpg Skywarp, Decepticon Stair-Pusher-Downer
“ You little fool... You're no match for Skywarp! ”
—Skywarp announces his superiority to a kid in a wheelchair.,
I also created my name in hopes of SE introducing NIN to the game.
17 years ago, my first college roommate and I started playing a beta of a game called Subspace. We wanted some set of names that had some sort of connection to each other. While I cannot remember what prompted us to think of it, the two eels from The Little Mermaid came to mind and Flotsam and Jetsam were born (not to be confused with Flotsam and Jetsam, the thrash metal band).
Out of habit and a little homage to history, we still use the names today.
My favorite character from my favorite book.

Elysia is just a name I happen to like. It is a feminization of Elysium, a Greek concept of the afterlife (a place reserved for heroes chosen by the gods). Elysia is also a genus of sea slugs, however irrelevant that may be. Mazda comes from Ahura Mazda, the prime deity of the Zoroastrian religion. Mazda roughly means "wisdom". The malevolent counterpart to Ahura Mazda is Angra Mainyu, also known as Ahriman. Now you know which mount I use.
I love Butterscotch!
Though I have no idea how I came up with my first name. <.<"
Ava Adore
Beau Navire
-.-
ran is my rl name. parade is some rdm choose, guess I change my last name to machina.
Marik Destiel
Marik comes from it being the first name I ever associated with naming any kind of game character different from what was given to you and even my first MMO (always have some form of Marik in my MMO chars I made.) Marik was a name I have no idea where I found it, but I found it and sort of was attracted to it before I even knew what Yu-Gi-Oh was... That doesn't mean I don't love Marik Ishtar from Battle City... in fact Marik is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh character still to this day.
Destiel comes from my OTP (one true pairing, fanboy stuff) Dean and Castiel characters from the TV show "Supernatural". I love the combined name of these too so much! I've never loved a TV show like I love SPN so I had to incorporate my love for it, plus I think it's an awesome-saucesome name to have for a character!
YAOI WARNING No it's not adult themed lol...
Sorry I don't have any cool mysterious meaning behind my name. But it shows part of me and my personality!
the ex wife
Thank my lucky stars!
Sar'v Yod'dha... i got it from Sarva which means all/everything/complete in sanskrit.... Yoddha is hindi/sanskrit for Warrior....
Originally was Aluendalee Kor, Full name was Aluendalee Maria Kor... I got the first name well searching for a good name for an elf character (happened to find Aluendalee somewhere can't remember where) when I started playing WoW (for all of 2 weeks mind you)
I then shortened the name to Aluena thinking hey a name found on the internet may be copywrited, and Mahri to keep her name similar to before but throw a little Miqo'te twist to it :3
My name is meaningless. My character in XI was named Eekiki. This was before the time of being able to select your server. I wanted to be on Ragnarok, but I didn't know anyone who would get me a World Pass. So I just kept rerolling and rerolling until I landed on Ragnarok. I chose the name from one that was auto-generated, and the name I chose was Neekiki. I got real fast at going through the character creation process, and the time it finally placed me on Ragnarok I typo'd the name and left off the first character. And this is why my name is Eekiki.
My first name is Kiki because it almost fits with Plainsfolk naming conventions. Eekiki Eeki didn't sound that good to me.
Lovely. Are you a meter maid?
I wanted a cool sounding name from a game.
Happen to like Noel's name...and here I am today.
At least I can make fun posts about being a Time Traveler! XD
NOW BOW DOWN TO ME. >:C
Ayanami: for Rei in Evangelion (Also the haircut, and hair and eyes color too... XD)
Himeka: Like how it sounds en "Hime" means Princess in Japanese...

I've used Shy in my character's names for a while now. But I also like sticking to lore names if I can help it. I wanted to go Keeper of the Moon because I loved the simple lore that was in the character creation. But I could not find a way to make a Keeper name with "Shy" in it. I was very close to just making a female Hyur because of that.
But then I started brain storming with a friend and together we came up with Shyaih. In my head, the "ai" just makes the "y" sound in "shy" pronounced a little longer, to make the hissing noise both "h" make easier to get out.
And Khizmet is just a different spelling of Kismet, with the "h" again making a hissing sound. Kismet meaning "fate".
Hopefully it has fooled some people into thinking I got it from random name generator.
Random Name gen. In ffxi when I started a new character.
I started playing on FFXI. The name i wanted was taken (Cosmo) so I used something I read on a wall that day (Zono).
When Titan was merged to Phoenix I had to change it so I renamed my char to Zohno.
Now I'm using that name and something that sounds almost like my real surname.
I have a pug/armorer on legacy named Maza Blaska (flat iron in Navajo).
My main now is T'zima Narki which is the name of a tune from the Godfather of electronic music Brian Eno and a couple of his buddies "Cluster". The album "After the Heat"(1978). The songs real spelling is Tzima N'Arki I just switched it around a bit to make a lore-ish name for my kitty : D
I tried to be witty. Potens Veneficus means powerful wizard in latin lol
All of my game characters (any game with create-a-character I play) are based off my writing. This is the only MMO that lets me get their full names without trying to come up with some original one-word name (that I know of).
My character name is based on Momo from Breath of Fire III or Xenosaga (take your pick) and is also a derivative of my real name, Morgan. Last name is from Mushy Snugglebites of Borderlands 2 Tiny Tina fame. This fine ass womenz can't do without her BADONKADONK!
As a huge fan of Circa Survive's Album Juturna, I wanted to use that for my character's name. Lacus Juturna was actually a pool built for the water nymph, Juturna. As for my alternate, "Genki Dama", I'll give awesome points to whoever can tell me where that's from.
Pretty cool how many people have seemingly random names with interesting meanings behind them.
Vinyth I pulled from the name Vin, a character from the Mistborn novels that I really enjoyed. I added the -yth at the end to give it some uniqueness. Arcanis is a mage-ish surname I've used before that seemed to go well enough with the first name. I actually used it on a character before I even knew FF14 was a thing, completely coincidental that I'm playing an Arcanist now.
My chocobo I named Mandarb, as a small nod to my favorite series of novels. I've ran into a couple people who got the reference.
Talis- Talisman with the man whacked off. Thought it sounded neat and mystical, and I was going for a magical Keeper.
Nenmyr- Nen, the mystic energy from Dungeon Fighter Online. Myr, a stylization of various words that mean sea (harkening back to Miqo'te migrations and whatnot)
For chocobo, it's Baldr. That way when my happy sunny companion dies, he's only fulfilling his destiny.
My character was created back in oct 99 for Everquest Made Lilena up on a whim in like 5 seconds

Erik Myhnier is my real name.
Jager was drawn 9 years ago for D&D. I chose his name due to having German and England blood in me. Jager, German meaning "hunter." And Forrester is English origin with variant forms of "Forest." (forest man, woodsman, forest-dweller, of the forest, etc. etc.). So in translation, Jager is a "hunter of the forest," quite fitting for an adventurer. Being from Gridania and wearing green tied him back to the old days.

More artwork and more about his origin in blog.
I know I'm quoting myself. But oddly enough, I just ran across this on Kotaku and it made me smile. The late Dr. Leary's work is how I first heard of Neuromancer.
