se fix something!? lol :-/ this issue has been going on since beta along with the disconnects, do ya self a favour, pay to play another game cuz this prob aint guna be fixed it jus gets worse!

lol I know SE will not fix that (I mean give them some time, it's been only 2 months since the release, seriously)... just trying to cheer up others. For my part I'm fine, no disconnection issue just like 5% of Fate crashes.
It just occurred to me that could it be the problem with RAMS? Anyone tried to re-fix their RAMs.
This is happening to me as well. It used to be a run time error now it is just simply a FFXIV has encountered an error and needs to close....
I recently switched to full screen which I enjoy a hell of a lot more and the crashing has increased tenfold.... So ill try switching back to windowed...Sigh....
I HOPE SE is even reading this thread... or the previous Runtime error thread that is essentially the same problem....
This is from a thread i just started;
For those experiencing frequent Windows "This program has stopped working"
I was battling many force close and "This Program Has Stopped Wrking" messages after the last big update. I had changed video card drivers and in-game settings and tried everything i could think of. As a last ditch effort, I disabled my CPU Overclock (seen in my sig below) and just let the chip do its thing at stock.
Since then, no crashes at all. No crowded fate crashes, no town crashes nothing, no hard freezes, no nothing.
I do not experience these issues with other programs on my system when it is overclocked (auto-adjusted with the MB, i don't touch anything else, sits at 4.2, not a crazy OC for an i5-3570k.)
So, if you haven't tried it, give it a shot and report back. Perhaps if we can identify that the game doesn't like overclocked CPUs, it may help the devs with a cause of the issue
I run on a lower end pc, but after changing to low settings, I rarely if ever have lag. I have never had issues with any game. I was sitting at Revenant's Toll for 15mins in queue and bam program stops working. At least it never happened in an instance.. yet. It doesn't happen all the time at least.
This is insane really. It makes you not even want to play the game. I have a nvidia 660 and it happens everything I try to do fates.
Never experienced crashes like this before, but I moved my dinosaur of a PC up one generation in video card this weekend, and had to notch the FSB back a bit to make it stable again. May be something with more abuse to the RAM or maybe it's more power draw off the motherboard (went from 4870 512MB to 5870 1GB, should be the same power profile, but who knows).
If you are overclocking anything, may be worth notching it back just to see if it behaves better.
This started happening to me just yesterday. It usually happens when I'm leaving a zone / loading a new zone. It's not very often, but still annoying. The only thing I can think of is that I recently updated my graphics drivers. It'd be amazing if UPDATING your graphics drivers messed it up. I doubt we'll get a response here though. =/
Try updating your computer graphic card and the necessary, works perfectly now. It's not about SE its about your computer performance, so, it'll be sad to quit such a nice game when your computer have the good capacity.
I've tried the lastest and a couple older versions of my card, and I don't overclock my pc, and still get the errorless Windows has closed the program. I'm at a loss for what else to try or what could be causing it. None of my friends that play get this issue and we all have similar builds and use windows 7. Any help from anyone will be great. I hate being unable to do anything past Garuda HM cause of the constant forcecloses.
bump. Help please S.E. Or at least pretend like you are.
Well for you at this point I don't know if it's coming from SE or your PC, because I know some people that had never crashed at all and one of them is playing on a gaming laptop GTX 560 M. Some says it's the server too... dunno but good luck.
Intel core i5 at least must be the solution.
Bump. Well it's start crashing at Coerthas. This really need to be fixed!
Another bump.
I'll tell you what result it'll give when I'll upgrade, in two three weeks, my Pentuim Dual-Core CPU E5300 / 2.60GHz to an Intel Haswell Processor Core i7-4770K / 3.50 GHz Quad-Core Socket-LGA1150 8 Mo
I am having major crash issues on PS3. It just kicks me to the XMB randomly while zoning. Not sure if it's the same cause as the PC people but SE needs to fix it.
Constant crashing indeed, this has been around for a long time now.... Address this, please!
First day playing and crashing every 5 minutes. Luckly being in IT im able to track problems down pretty quick.
I havent gone through the settings yet to adjust it, but I can tell its a graphics card heat issue with a couple other games have. HWmonitor shows I go from 120 degrees outside game to near 200 in game. Overclocked GTX670. Most games for me run around 160 degrees. Gonna start playing with settings and if I find anything Ill post, after I turn my fan up :)
Misdiagnosis.
Its not a heat issue. I'm playing with the same rig that I used at launch, a rig that did not encounter this problem until after the patch mentioned in this thread's OP. A rig which ONLY encounters this problem while FATE grinding, often the second a FATE ends, ONLY in zones with a lot of players, with crashes occurring when many of those players aren't even being rendered.
I have a GTX 550 Ti, play on the the lowest settings available in the game (Medium for laptop), and have all effects for other players turned off. My PC isn't amazing, but it can handle plenty of other far more demanding games than this without issue.
So no, its not a heat issue; its bad coding and programming on SE's end, just like the R6025 runtime error is. Its also inexcusable that both errors have persisted for so long.
I don't think it's a programming issue on the server end. If it was, we all would have the same issue. Just reading through this thread, there are at least 3 separate issues going on:
1.) Heat. Heat drives down voltage. As voltage drops, efficiency drops. As efficiency drops, the GPU ramps up to balance supply/demand. Rendering becomes unstable. Instead of looping forever, the card forces a panic and windows kills the program.
2.) Drivers. When updating drivers, you never really get rid of the old driver (unless you scrub it in safe mode). The bits and pieces of the old driver could cause a panic and force close the program in an attempt to resolve the render loop.
3.) Hardware Issue. Maybe the card is just bad/going bad. Semi conductors go bad all the time. Crappy solder job from the tool at the plant, a bad dye, impurities on the etching of the board, a blown or inefficient capacitor. All these can cause all sorts of havoc.
I wouldn't rule anything out. Heat can and will cause exactly what some users are seeing. Without testing and consolidation of information, there isn't a way to tell if there is a common link.
I think I fixed mine. Started playing the game 2 days ago with crashes every 15-20 minutes. As stated, most games previous ran temps around 62c-70c. This game runs well above that causing it crash. I have a highly ventable case I normally close up to keep dust out, but I opened them up this morning and only had 1 crash in 8 hours of play. I also changed the fan curve to put the fan up to 75% when its over 70.
If anyone doesnt know how, the following utilities can help check for heat problems and help set your fan speed to kick on much faster:
CPUID hwmonitor: I use this as it tracks the current and highest temp of the graphics card, CPU, HD, and other. Since it saves the highest temp, its easy to see if its heat causing the crash. Anywhere north of 75c is too hot. Open it, play the game for 15 minutes, alt tab and check Max column. Simple.
EVGA Precision X: Easiest app to set your fan speed curves or just manually crank your fan to max.
Been crashing like crazy just today I crashed over 20 times "trying" to level...
No error just "Final Fantasy has stopped responding"
Check the temps on your cores. If you're breaking 90C, there's your problem. You can use a couple programs to monitor the hardware in your machine:
GPUz: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
CPUID: http://www.cpuid.com/ (Thanks Nashie!)
Heat is the great equalizer for computers. The cooler your system stays, the better performance you will see (heat drives down voltage. Less voltage, less power to render. Less rendering, more crashing).
By any chance do you all have nvidea graphic card? cos my gf and i both have nvidea and we are both experienced alot of errors lately cos of their constant update drivers. but now its really getting bad. We are both getting game freezes that last 30seconds or more. Literally freezes time stops picture like/not responding 4-8times a day now. Both of our internet network connetion is good.
:( after posting this just as i update nvidea driver 331.90 now game client closes withing screen load or freezes/closed game client withing 10secs of being online.
Just to add, in my case it's definately not heat. My CPU never goes above 50 degree's and my GPU never above 70. The only way I have managed to get my GPU to break 70 is by running furmark. Certainly not while gaming.
I don't think so, I dont have issues in any other game. Only FFXIV, my PC is steady as a rock. I have even ran stress tests on RAM, CPU, Memory and HDD, everything passes any stability test I can throw at it.
I must confess, recently this problem has not been as bad for me. I am limited to maybe 1 crash per week. However, I don't fate grind as much as I used to, which is where the problem seems to present itself he most.
So under heavy loads. What's your GPU? Do you happen to know if there are any beta drivers out for it?
That honestly sounds like a rendering panic. Voltage values may be off or the driver may conflicting with other software.
Can you raise the voltages on your cores and see if you stabilize? Remember, push them up but be careful as you can fry/short/burn the cores if pushed too high.
I had to tweak my voltages when I originally got this motherboard due to stability issues. Since I found stable values I am not prepared to start messing with them again in case the lockups start again.
If you look up this thread:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/...-790i-freezes#.
You'll see my voltages.
At the same time, if there really was a voltage issue would I not be experiencing problems in other areas of my system?
I fail to understand how your PC can be perfectly stable 24/7 doing everything else bar FFXIV and somehow my PC is the problem.
For me, this still happens as well .. hope soon a fix will be deployed.
I haven't been able to play since yesterday due to this constant error (2002), has anybody experienced something similar between 28-30 of November?
The client keeps crashing on the main screen and the start button is unavailable for some reason, any ideas?
i'm gonna have to toss my hat into this ring too. gettin constant runtime errors.
intel core2 duo (3.4 ghz), 8 gigs ram, nvidia gtx 570, win 7 64 bit
Aside from having massive lags all the time, the game just quits on me as well, just as it pleases. Really sad about the money i wasted on this unfinished mess. :(
How about you rework it again and call it Final Fantasy: A reborn realm reborn? ....
Joining in on the crash bandwaggon, unfortunately i dont even get in game anymore i crash as soon as i log in and hit play 99 times out of 100. error message looks like this
Apparently im in the same boat with you guys i got a 90k and now i cant even get back into the game, i crash on startup now with an error message like this
AppName: ffxiv.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.0 ModName: ffxiv.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.0 Offset: 008e0fb6
If i click for more details theres a quite large list that lists out 61 modules and 1 thread along with something i have no idea what it is.
Anyone got a suggestion here?
Bumping so SE can see the thread, but continue to ignore it as they have for over a month now.
Running windows 7 64 bit.
Game crashing upon launch, can't even get to character selection screen.
First time there was a runtime error. Fixed by unselecting "Read only" for FFXIV game folder.
Got into game just fine, then. But crashed again.
tried disabling chrome remote desktop services. No luck
The crash error I get now references Memory. Will try Running in Windows XP compatible mode, or just setting the game to full screen mode.
From what I've noticed, FFXIV draws unreal amounts of CPU computation. If your computer doesn't ramp it's own voltage on the cores (locked in the state maybe) it will try to run the higher frequencies, but not have enough juice to perform causing a crash.
On my personal machine, I had to ramp my NB Voltages and CPU Voltages to run it how I wanted to.
I could be wrong and I'm not the end all to computers or anything. But when I ramped my own voltages up and locked my P0 state, I stopped having issues.
