I can't wait either :D

Airships, perhaps? [They look like hot air balloons in the artwork.]Quote:
A number of plans made at the beginning of the year will soon be ripe for release. Among these are the shiny new job system (a proper system, mind you, not just renamed classes), an in-game achievement system related to Lodestone character histories, and new modes of transport to address the mobility issue.
It's so patronizing seeing them fly overhead while you're walking to Broken Water for the thousandth time.
Aside from airships, there's also the chocobo caravan just outside of Gridania and the docks in Thanalan.
This makes me wonder if they plan on increasing the rank cap soon, even minimally.Quote:

Implementation of a rank 50 dungeon for full parties
I read through all the stuff that's planned, and I have to say, it sounds very interesting! I'm excited to see these changes.
I welcome our new Dodo mount overlords.
I live below the equator so my seasons differ from north america's. When does summer begin and when does summer end there?
I was thinking on the topic of why chocobos are not introduced yet. Maybe they actually want them to be more than transportation? What if they want to have mounted battle?
Hmm, I keep reading this part over and over:
and a part of me is interpreting this as he's planning on having all of the stuff listed or most of it done BY summer.Quote:
This time around, the list contains additions planned for up until summer 2011. You see what I did there with the bold font for emphasis? But anywho, without further ado, feast your eyes on the list in its entirety! (Remember, these are our plans until summer 2011!)
Well, all the stuff on the list is the plans for until summer, which means that there should be all new stuff after summer. The only ambiguity is if that statement is inclusive or exclusive. In other words, is all that stuff gonna be implemented before summer starts or before summer ends?
Reading the JPN version of the post doesn't make it any clearer. It still says the exact same thing the English translation says.
That would leave him less than 2 weeks, and 1.18 is planned for mid-June, i.e. summer. So you're just thinking into it too much. Yoshi-P might've just made a mistake on the wording and it was then subsequently translated as such.
Loss of physical level... not good. I was hoping it would get a new life with new bonuses.
Jumping examination as been pushed back... meh. I was hoping they would at least examine it before adding lots of new stuff, so they can already plan new things to fit with jumping.
I am pleased with many changes and doubtful with many others, hopefully I'll be wrong on the ones I am doubtful. I just want more character customization, character growth not tied to class ranks (my character is a whole, not a class) and more freedom to do whatever I would like to do (jump, wear anything, engage in fun mini-games, fight meaningful battles with friends, build a true guild with my friends, decorate a home, enjoy shopping in a well organized and seamless market wards, etc.)
I'm sorry for being negative today, but it's how I feel. Final Fantasy XIV is still far from reaching all of its players.
Damn I see tweet from lodestone about producer letter x and srs squealed like a lil' gurl~
Well, sorry, but it's never going to reach you if this is your stance. Player polls asked for physical level to be abolished (rightly so), and there are far more immediate concerns than jumping. Also, theyre turning armor focus to being more class and rank specific so, bad luck.
There's always second life if you want to wear preties and play minigames, though.
Am happy they making all gear rank and class specific not being was a dumb idea the only one who really got piss about the idea of adding only rank and class specific gear was mithra race "Not pointing at the full race only the few who does" who want to dress there char like a doll and walk around with awesome looking gear. How dumb it would be if anyone can use anyone AF lol.
JUMP IMPLEMENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED AS LOWER PRIORITY
THIS SUCK!! END OF FINAL FANTASY XIV
I am still disappointed that there is no mention of player housing, a mailbox system, Auction House, gardening, or mining being avalible in the mines.
i *suppose* was sarcastic.
He's already said mailboxes will come, but first there's some kind of server issues to be worked out first. Ah and housing can come after. Battle system is the core of game, so it need to be the first priority nowQuote:

I for one am excited for all the changes being implemented, the new dev team is doing a great job! and while there is still a lot to do the game is very playable right now. I have just recently came back and am having a blast! and once the backbone changes are in i can only imagine what they will think of to put in. Summons, Chocobos, ... who knows what else!
So, I'd like to give a big thanks to the dev team for stepping things up and making a game I'll be more than happy to pay for all the changes look great guys!
These changes will be done before summer!?!?! That's awesome. I guess it makes sense. Once the battle system patch comes in, all the other things that are being worked on will be released. Can't wait. First day of Summer June 21st. 1 Month to go. Woot woot.
Being one in the Great White North, this game looks like it will be prime by the time I go to Hibernate. I can see this game being huge now. Great direction Dev Team. 3 cheers for Yoshi.
I really, really hope they're not pulling their classic SE bull of messing with words to keep themselves off the hook.
"Up until summer", in English, means that all of that will be implemented by the start of summertime, June 21st.
Why can they not just be crystal clear for once? It's like they border on lying with half the stuff they say.
Summer in Scotland is the one week in July it doesn't rain.
so does this mean im not going be just killing wild life now.Quote:

AH is unneeded. Player housing is unneeded though expect it to be like Mog Houses if anything. Mailbox system is unneeded as they already mentioned a delivery system will be coming.
Also, for people who are wondering about the "until summer 2011"...
He said he bolded it for emphasis for a reason.
Linkshell controls?
I'm really hopping they simply forgot to mention it. We need to be able
to remove inactive members.
Like others have said it's not listed on the task chart or in dev tags.
It's an interface (UI) thing so it's something they can easily change. They never put dev tags for "3D Party text" and it was implemented. If they're smart they'll use XI's Linkshell system as a base and improve it from there. In XI I can boot people, I don't have to see people who no longer play filling up the list and therefore eventually have to REMAKE an entire linkshell just to get rid of them.
Well if they pull off everything in that list, we will all get the game we all expected to get when it was released. These are amazing changes and I'm glad to see that the Devs really listened to the community.
Now let's just hope the new job system, abilities and all combat and character progression stuff is done right.
Good Job Yoshi-P! :)
Sure sounds like it, but I read the French version and it's poorly translated and even more vague, so my guess is that it's just a translation artifact and that it's until the end of the summer. If not, why not simply stating "to be implemented in patch 1.18" which is planned for mid june?
