Sounds like someone needs to walk away for a month or so. Why log in when your getting upset about it?

They do give us pretty detailed information in advance of the updates. But, it takes time to write, proofread and edit, translate; and this has to be done after they've finalized what they are going to release (Yoshi has stated that he's not going to make promises he may not be able to keep ).
I'd rather have the non-detailed notes by the community rep than silence in between updates.
All of these was answered.
These however:
Is subjective. Judging by your sig you've played XI before, therefore you should notice and realize the quests and missions are mainly for story/lore and the 'fun' comes from the events.Quote:
are they gonna add quest or mission that make game fun
are they gonna add anything where they game doesnt completely suck
Ok well this post was being more toward Dev's SE stopping rumors on whats happening because alot of people quitting and jumping ship is getting stupid . I knew 1st thing that people like Thevidis would come and talk smack and totally miss the point of my post let me clarify this ... Many people are taking break from the game and leaving till 1.18 correct yes/no, Now If nothing done in this game many of these people will simply not come back and force many linkshells and servers to depopulate and force it to shut servers down and Shut game down . So you got Lv 50 all rnks and did about 2% of the potential and spent 50 - 74 dollars for the game put money into crysta .
And now your left with about a year of wasted time . I dont want to see thousands of players get f'd out of legit crafting and and leveling. I am not ranting or spazing out and im not forceing SE to do anything i am letting the people who read this which the majority are Causal players who go crazy because things are too hard or not going their way , is that we are making an investment in to this franchise , so SE should be more forth coming with info test photo's and/or saying "Rumors of this this and this are not true and we currently doing a-b-c- and D " . And i understand they had golden week but that time is over they need to get back to work and let the player base know hey guys we back here are some info to hold you over ..
and to those saying im nerd raging (this is to the guy with "DUH, WINNING" in siggy spot brah im not a nerd raging fool what i am doing is looking out for everyone's best interest
you are nerd raging, look at how bad your ranting is about it
and you say im the one talking smack
im just stating a few facts, and fact is alot of what you posted was utter nonsense and totaly not true
another speculation machine thats whining about not enough info even when they give us more then any other game out there
nothing is ever enough for some people
you dont get it also apprently you played FFXI and were SO DAMN UBER that you did all your missions and quest alone and solo'd DL JoL AV Kirin all of SKY all of Dyna all of the Kings and SE made a statues of you in ToUA because you solo'd everything ..... and what i was sayinh about the missions is that the fact you could interact with all people of the server and enjoy the game together .. i remember doing missions and meeting great and long lasting friends doing all those things
posting false info is always dumb, didnt you know that
the moment you stated they are going to charge people in 1.18 your post was invalid
and i stalk you? i dont even pay attention to the names of people i reply too(cept kilta cuz kilta is everywhere and always wrong)
Since you wanted to bring this up:
I have soloed the gods sans Kirin on my SCH.
I soloed Ix`drk on my SCH (this is easy for anyone to solo really)
I have soloed a lot of Abyssea NMs sans brew on my RDM and SCH.
Missions and quests won't make the game fun, it'll be the events just like in XI. Most people button mashed through the missions they didn't realize most were just for the story and the only thing that brought people together were the fighting portions, which was few and far inbetween. The only difference between XIV and XI mission system is because everyone was so gungho about not being social, SE made sure you can't do the majority of missions in a group and can (have to) do them solo with NPC help.
I've played every one of SE's MMOs, so I do get it. Their design heavily tips towards events (or "raids" to most) being the fun content, while grinding and quests/missions, which some have fun with, aren't necessarily what will make the game fun.
Daily updates? How about weekly? How about some information at all? We haven't had a Letter from the Producer worth a damn since February. How about the battle announcement in the "near future" which was then "next week" which is now "this week" (and it's Wed in Japan).
Yoshida was brought in to keep us involved and yet not a single person knows anything (ANYTHING) about this game or where it's going because we're not told anything but vague commentary and general ideas without deadlines.
We know "new battle" (vague idea) is starting to implement (no deadline) in June with dungeons (vague idea w/ deadline). That's all anyone knows for sure about anything. It's a tad silly, don't you think? They know the game isn't good and want us to hang in there, but give us next to nothing to "hang on to" or wait for.
Not to mention "daily" updates wouldn't be hard if the Reps responded every day rather than 2 days of the week they explode 15 comments. They apparently don't work on NA Friday or Monday - or the time they spend at work isn't replying. They are radio silent today so far. I mean, I don't know what their entire job details are, but I thought it was linking us with the dev team.
So it's fair to be irritated by these long stretches of nothing. I do think the OP and others are a tad overly hostile and I do think there are some rampant rumors that have little to no support from actual comments from the developers, reps or any interviews I've read ... but it would be nice to have some facts rather than rumors and speculations and vague "I'll tell you soon about X" where X equals an infinite amount of unknown variables.
It's getting old from a Producer who promised to keep us more informed in his inaugural speech.
I want it and I want it NAO!!
It's not "NAO" though. It's been 6 months. I did want it in December. I wanted it the day Yoshida took over. I wanted to see what he had planned, how he was going to change things for the better. He apparently set a course in motion (changing the battle system) that was met with mixed reviews and still hasn't even bothered to release the details of that decision. I think I've been particularly patient and accepting of how things are and how long it takes to change things.
The problem is this isn't an open channel of communication. Yoshida knows what the new battle system will be like and he's known for weeks. Why don't we know? Why keep us waiting? Haven't we waited long enough? What do they gain from not telling us? Don't they want feedback? I thought they did. I thought that was the point of all this.
This is in no way "NOW." My patience personally is expiring rapidly. It even pains me to admit it. I like XIV. I like the way the game is right now. I like every aspect of it. I just don't like not knowing where it's headed. I don't like being told tiny fragments of information and have them dangled in front of me for six months. I don't like it. I think most people who looked at it analytically wouldn't like it either.
Shai, all you want is subjective
letters not worth a damn, to you maybe
we have gotten one every 2-3 weeks since they began
we get regular rep posts on here
just because its not the info you wanted doesnt mean we have no communication
also, the battle announcement this week...guess what
ITS STILL THIS WEEK
so its not late, another mark against you for your massive impatience
this is a "i want it now" thread for so many people its rediculous, you people need to have patience
go level or something, farm some NMs, make some gil, prepare for whats coming instead of pining over what you dont know yet
It's not information. It's reassurances that information exists. Information would be "informing" us on something. I've known there was going to be a new battle system since January. Telling me there's going to be a new battle system (in May) doesn't present me with any information on said battle system.
Yoshida himself apologized that he hasn't given us a substantial letter in "so long" (read: February).
The reps also apologize that they can't give us anything other than "we'll pass this along" or "they're working on SOMETHING."
I'm tired of that. How are you not? It may be subjective, but apparently those apologizing agree and can understand how frustrating it is from MY point of view. Less apologies and more "information."
how can we possibly prepare for what's coming when we have no idea of what exactly is coming? Also, Level? Level what? Half of the classes in the game are garbage and it revolves too much around crafting (which I can't stand in this game).
Shai, maybe im too busy playing the game to care about getting new info every day
i know its coming
i know when its coming
itl come when it comes
as for leveling beind worth dub, no it isnt
when everything hits, ill have my levels ready, to do what i want when i want while other people play catch up to be able to handle what may be added
the only bad preperation is that which has not been done at all
That's subjective as well. I'm also leveling all classes to 50, too, because I have nothing else to do. That's fine. I said already I like the game. I'm enjoying leveling (or what I consider "skill farming"). It's not about whether I'm playing the game or not (I am) or whether I like it or not (I do).
I don't like being in the dark about the future. You like being in the dark (apparently) so props. I also don't like false information or rumor mongering like the OP presented, but the sentiment of wanting more information is not uncommon or unwarranted. We were told we'd be given more info. We haven't compared to XI or Tanaka himself in XIV. It's been about the same. We get a Letter from the Producer that tells us nothing at all except that he exists, the game exists, development exists. Yeah, everything we know (or hope) is true.
i do understand where people are getting annoyed with lack of communication. i have been to an extent. we were told months ago that we were getting a completely new battle system and job system. does anyone know anything more than the new battle system revolves around auto-attack, the nm's needed to be nerfed for the new system, and that the job system will be using both armory and sub-jobs? i think this is where people refer to no communication not in the fact they are not talking to us at all.
i would like to know what kind of changes they are working on. maybe not specifics since those they may not be able to follow through with, but more than a new system revolves around auto-attack would be nice.
once again with no communication on the direction people have one of 2 choices. either play the game til the new content comes out and hope the changes are good for them or not play the game and just come on to check after each patch to check them out. we've all seen the majority of people come on each patch to check things out then leave again a little closer to quitting the game and not returning.
What about we wait for f*cking Mid-June?
If I may play the devils advocate.
What if the system turns out to be bad? Maybe we feel like we could have a say in how it's being changed to prevent another 'disaster'. Yoshi and Square claim to want more communication, but are failing to supply it.
Either way, it's only Tuesday.
by the same note how do you know that it wont be a huge dungeon with all sorts of stuff in it? you dont
you need to stop being so negative, thats what your problem is
if you are this negative you obviously have no faith in the game why are you even bothering at this point
So what we can agree on is that we don't even know what a dungeon is, what will be in it, how it will be implemented, or really anything at all other than that it's a vague idea with an actual deadline for once.
Now THAT'S information. So glad they keep us in the loop.
I'm with ya, Dubont.
Then quit :) and play other game ;) you don't have to stay here you know you can quit and just see the info as they come. Are you doing that? no you sitting here bi???? at SE and talking bad about the game. Just quit play something else and log in here just to see updates.
We do know though. We know they'll be coming, however it's primarily the problem with MMOs these days people can be confused by what a dungeon is. Dungeons are typically subterrane areas which tend to have a boss or two in it, generally related to a quest or missionline.
These days, Dungeons are what instances are called, which makes no sense to me but it is how it is. We know they're overhauling the game. We know June we'll see battle changes and get info this week.
What else do we not know? Even looking at other MMO sites and forums they only announce info when it's close to release if it doesn't have a TBA date. The only exception to this is the company that's translating and hosting a JP/CN/KR MMO for western players which then it's mainly previews or interviewers.
How dare you tell me to quit when I've most likely been here longer than you. SE wants our business, but they aren't keeping up with their promises. I shouldn't have to "quit" because this team doesn't know what they are doing. Why should I be forced to play an entirely different game just because this one can't hold it's own weight in water? I stay here because I'm a loyal fan of SE and I want this game to succeed, unlike other games (Rift...) but why should fans and dedicated customers be put in the dark during a time when the customers need to be receiving as much information as possible to keep them interested in the product?
What might work for them since this isn't clearly working perhaps they should close down XIV and relaunch under a new name with all the updates already completed at a later time. They would be able obtain more players this way as the stigma of XIV won't remain under the new alias.
This would also relief the pressures of having to perform to expectations of the community, under deadlines plus they don't really have to release information. We can all pretend its a new game. Since everyone has played for about or close to 6 months now the cost of the game itself has probably been recuperated.
They could go back to project rapture, however they would then need to remove all FF references and designs and axe current plans which will further push back the overhaul production and upset the people who are already upset it takes awhile to redesign a game.
Think of having to change the game itself to be different beyond mechanically.
