@McLeech - nailed it, if I wanted to be a raider again I'd have to buy a delorean and a flux capacitor, RIP challenging raiding.
The hotfix notes say nothing about raising Myth Cap at all, it's not even vaguely hinted at, it won't happen.

Coil looks like this: 6 loots a week to gear up 96 slots (8 players, 12 slots each to gear minus weapons) is a bit much, especially once you factor in RNG. You're looking at 16 weeks to gear a static group assuming every piece is used by everyone, nothing missing and no duplicated drops. Realistically you're probably looking at double that.
Four months of PERFECT RNG to gear via the hardest content in the game vs Five months of ak farming for the same result.
That is the problem.
@Trikki
Don't forget that AK or Coil is not a choise, they are not mutually exclusive. People running both will be geared VERY fast. Plus tombs gear removes RNG problem partly, what ever pieces you don't get from Coil you can just buy for tombs. In 2 months you can have full ilvl 90 gear.
They will be increasing the amount you can acquire from the dungeons.
I'm expecting AK to drop 100 Philosophy and 50 Myth.
Sorry, only 300 per week is kind of low especially since the major selling point of this game is this 'ingenious' system where you are encouraged to play multiple alts (while waiting for content releases) but as is stands now...it will take 38 weeks to gear one job. So essentially, good luck gearing out more than one job anytime soon. It's just an artificial road block put in place to slow people down since end game is hyper limited and that's about it.
Anyways, who knows about how gear effects PvP. My guess is HC raiders will dominate by having superior equipment so better gear up/start raiding quick or get prawned.
It doesn't say per clear, it says they are increasing the amount you can obtain. I read that as the total amount. However, since it doesn't specify, it could mean the weakly cap, the total cap, the amount per win, possibly even all 3, or a combination of any two.
Like how you say this when calling someone else entitled. All your sub has ever entitled you to in any mmo is to play on it's servers, anything more than that is entirely up to you. If someone that players several hours a week doesn't want to put in the effort that someone who plays 20+ a week does then hey that's their own thing, but to expect to get everything that a player playing more gets is so laughable it's not even funny, it's like hand through the face facepalm.
That wasn't his point. He was responding to the assinine behavior of the other poster's entitled hardcore attitude.
AF2 is not 'Hardcore', it is 'Timesink'. A Skilled "Casual" can get the limit within 8 hours of gameplay in a week... If they only need to spend 8 hours a week playing, why do they need to spend 20+ hous a week?
For those who say the Cap won't rise (and I didn't expect it to rise until 2.1), then what else could they mean by the ammount able to be obtained? I suppose you're gonna say that the cap of 2.000 is what will change and not the cap of 300...
Except via the cap whether you put in 5 hours or 20 hours you can only achieve the same amount. Even with coil there's a weekly reset. This is why people are against any kind of caps because it goes exactly against what you're talking about. If we're going for AF2 if you play 2 hours a day and I play 20 hours a day we'll still get the gear in the same time frame.
There's people who literally said "If they remove the cap the casuals will have the gear too soon!" Do they even know what a casual is? Someone is casual when they only spend a few hours playing each day. The casuals won't get it faster. The hardcore will. Those that put in a ton of time each day will be the ones to benefit from a cap raise but then on mmo forums most people don't even know what a casual is. They talk from their rear while patting themselves on the back in excitement thinking that they produced a single intelligent and rational thought in their entire post when they did the complete opposite.
It doesn't even matter if they raise the weekly cap of Myth Tomes Casual players will still get the gear just as fast as Hardcore players WHY????? CAUSE THERE IS A CAP! so it doesn't matter if a causal plays 2hrs a day and a hardcore plays 20hrs. Only difference a hardcore can cap out in a day while the casual takes all week.
it would suck if they increase so much the myth cap, maybe 400 its fine so you can get 1 accessory per week but more..i really dont like it.
AF2/Allagan its the best gear you will get even in patch 2.1 so making it easier it would just kill more the "end game progress". so it would be better if they make it long so it last until 2.2
I hope the cap is lifted to at least 500, would be awesome.
I find it amusing people are worried about people getting the AF2 gear so quickly when it takes 5 months to gear out one class. By the time you gear out two classes, I'm sure they would have put in enough content updates where even better gear will be out, and by the 3rd or 4th job, they will probably have a hug content update and/or expansion out, making all of this gear outdated and eventually worthless. Kind of makes the idea of having multiple classes pointless though, as you will have average gear (dark light is essentially entry level gear, think justice points in WoW) for anything but your main for a very long time. In theory, if there was only AF2, why would anyone want someone in their group to come as an alt-job when their gear is going to be weeks behind?

Details on the Upcoming Hot Fix
Greetings!
As we mentioned recently, we will be performing a hot fix next week where we will be performing adjustments and addressing various things. While the specific details will be announced separately, I would like to give you an overview of what will be done ahead of time.
* The maintenance is scheduled to take place on Oct. 14, 2013 from 8:00 p.m. (PDT) / Oct. 15, 2013 from 3:00 (GMT). See the following for more details: NA / EU (Added on October 11th, 2013)
- Changes will be made to the way equipment is bound.
- Introducing additional servers and enhancements to act as a countermeasure against the congestion to enter "Amdapor Keep."
- The difficulty for level 50 dungeons will be adjusted.
- The number of areas where you can acquire Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy and Mythology will be increased as well as the amount you can acquire.
- Implementation of a population cap for each field.
- * The population cap is planned to be introduced separately. (Added on October 11th, 2013)
- Adjustments to the spawn rate of monsters that drop diremite web and additional locations where Karakul can be found.
- The amount of experience points that can be acquired on botanist and miner, as well the experience points that can be acquired from their fieldcraft leves, will be increased.
- User interface elements related to materia and target information will be adjusted.
In addition to the above adjustments we will also be fixing a number of bugs.
There you go Alerith :3
I'd rather each Job had it's own cap where you would have to do content on said Job to earn the points (like exp!). This means the people that play multiple jobs can keep them all evenly geared should they choose to dedicate the time for it.
Its funny I think of myself as pretty Casual (only playing a few hours each week) and i'm not even 50 yet. Elites (I hope its not offensive, I just mean the word opposite to casuals) should not have such a "sky is falling" mentality, us casuals won't be geared soon with or without the cap raise.
PLEASE GOD LET ONE Of "several bugs" BE THE SERVER DELAY
