This is actually a very cool idea..it sounds like a great feature for people who get into the role playing aspect or want something that makes them feel more involved in the game world.
That said, with the current DF setup I simply do not see it getting to much use. I mean the majority of people do even hang around the dungeon location because there is no requirement..heck I can be on the other side of the game world..mining shards while I am in the queue for a dungeon or primal fight.
I still like the idea but I don't see it getting much use unless something drastically changes in the game..or maybe if they create role playing type servers where you need to be at or near the dungeon to queue up along with some other changes to slow the game down and make it more of an adventure (you know like cut back on the quick travel options).
I would love something like this. It doesn't have to work exactly like this, but having camps set up where you can do a few things is just so cosy and an amazing way to add to the atmosphere of the game. Loved tent in FFIX for that reason and it is a perfect example of setting the mood just right.
Sounds like something I would really enjoy!
Although I do believe these are pretty cool functionalities, the camp site itself may not work, since no one will want to travel to the dungeon, if the duty finder teleports them anyway.
For example, in old WoW, when they had the summoning stone, you basically had to fight who wants to go to the stone. Everyone else rather stay wherever they are, even in towns. So if the duty finder works like this, the camp site may not work.
What may work, like you mentioned, is integrating with FC housing. Perhaps put these functionalities in the housing, the memoirs, lores, bestiary. This would actually be good, so that the housing would not just be a house where people gather, but a house that has unique functions you can do while inside it.
Inside the dungeon, you can implement the shared inventory and the feast.
Like I said it's implementation may require some working. But I think the base idea is solid.
I like the ideas, but sadly i highly doubt this thread, as marvelous and excellent for all the time you spent in it, will never happen. So many ideas on these forums will never come to past sadly. They are more concerned with feedback on current stuff they want to program to mimic wow.
I wish to see this, im just being realistic.
It's a bit of a pipedream thread but at least it points out a few systems that really need some tweaking.
Those ideas are really great, some actually already implemented in some mmorpgs, I loved the Memoir =)
Though, as a dev speaking, that party system where you can check the group's gear according to their application would take a lot, if not a ton of the server/instanced server resources, and those lines would take a lot of time to be deved, also it'll take a few months of tests to get it working like it should, with optimal algorytm =/
In Word Of Warcraft we can prepare food feast before doing the raid, just putting table that fill with food and everyone can take a bite to get the food buff, and there also a tent that can give you a buff for party member who sit under it.
Pandaria feast.
