Sounds like every mmo to me.
The people in this thread are ridiculous. Hardcore gamers aren't that way because they want to play the same dungeon 50 times, they are that way because they want to be able to access the challenging content. There is no reason that in order to get to challenging content you should have to run the same 2 dungeons so many times that it kills your soul.
It really makes no sense to me. On the way to 50 you have so many different options on how you want to progress your character. Once you get to 50 you have really 2 valid options, ak and cm. There really needs to be more level 50 dungeons. It's not like cm is hard, it's as easy as any of the previous dungeons on the way to 50. As for ak, it is decently difficult, and rightly so. But there should be more than one regular dungeon for max level players looking to progress their character. Difficulty is great, monotony is not. People should stop confusing the monotony of running cm dozens (it feels like hundreds) of times with difficulty.
perhaps they should have made the 1-50 grind longer so casuals wouldn't reach cap before they implemented the training wheels for end-game.
look, we all know that having only a couple of dungeons to run is monotonous. the issue has been brought forth time and time again. the issue has been addressed by SE (see 2.1 slated). sitting here and posting more threads about it isn't solving anything and neither is my criticism of your posts. bottomline: we know it sucks, there is nothing we can do at this time, and there are already plans to offset the current problem.
The issue is that after doing the same content for the 10 or 50th to infinity time.
People that make mistakes often (noobs, new to content players or just tired) and people with bad gear (aka new players) start to annoy you extremely fast.
Then there is also the feeling that WTfreak why am I grinding this for the xxxth time and WTfreak that guy is extending my time here by (can be) an hour (or more), etc.
And if you doing primal, you sort of know that after this hour or two, you will most likely not get anything thanks to the wonderful RNG.
If you doing AK or CM, you know that you need to do it like 5~10th times more for your next gear and more after that. Just count how many gear slots you have and times it by 8 runs each of at least 35 minutes (pro group), etc.
If you grind CM for Darklight gear, it would take an estimate of 42 hours with constant pro group (not including time outside of dungeon), to get armor that is one level above your class armor. Then even longer to get AF +1 armor.
Weapons, a standard persons ifirt grind will be 30 minutes x avg. 20 times = 12 hrs (that is if you never wipe and your group is pro). That is not including Garuda lvl 70 weapons that will be harder to get.
AK to get the max 300 tokens per week x one month or more for AF+1 and relic is 8 runs of 40 minutes per instance per week (pro group again).
You see it adds up. Very soon (after hundreds of hours) you quit (or not), but not before raging at SE an any other players that delays you.
Also if you just starting, you know that the road is like crazily long that it is your gear and your inexperience that is trolling the others and you know that they are starting to get annoyed... (unless you are dense that is)
FYI: I do not know how to fix this and still keep people playing. But super long constant grinds is not it. At least for me. I rather they drop the costing and increase RNG chances (or 2 loot per primal) and cap the amount of tokens you can grind each week.
FYI2: I just started last week the grind and am a working adult. My "cannot take it" levels are slowly building. If I "no life" each day can maybe do 2 AK runs, 1 CM run max. I am seeing a long long long road ahead, in which the rest of my "no life", "still schooling" FC is moving way ahead of me. You can say, suck it up, etc, etc, etc. But realistically things like this kill your entertainment making you play less and seek other stuff slowly over time.
FYI3: Did I mention that CM is BORING like no tomorrow and AK mobs are also BORING... At least the AK bosses can make it. Maybe not the first boss though...
FYI4: I am the healer, yes heal botting is so fun :D
The worst part is that it kills people who want to level other classes.
I did CM & AK for full Darklight+ relic. It's a huge grind Each piece of accessory is 4 CM runs. The cowl/chest is 13 CM runs. The pants are 9 runs. The gloves and feet are 5 runs. The belt is 4 runs. It takes about 56 CM runs for a full kit of Darklight.
FIFTY-SIX RUNS FOR A SET OF GEAR OF THE SAME DUNGEON IS NOT ACCEPTABLE DESIGN.
If I want to suit up my scholar and monk, that's ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT runs of CM. That is just absurd. Especially if you want to do Titan HM and need to at least have full darklight accessories if not some of the body pieces as well, especially as a healer.
The game is still only been out like 2 months guys relax
I miss the fact that games like this used to take work and determination to accomplish "end game" stuff. Of course the actual thing that bothers most is like was mentioned, people don't want to collect 300 Myth stones a week for 4.5 months to max their gear. I don't mind I am tired of reading how there is nothing to do in other games. So, they add more ways to get myth and philo stones but the myth are still capped at 300. We will still see people cry.
If you don't like it don't do it and be happy with what "your willing" to do. Others with RL stuff, its hard to play end game in any mmo and deal with RL and keep up with those with less responsibility.
I would like to see more endgame variety I think they are working on it.
For those that think running the same 2 easy dungeons over and over makes you hardcore- lol.
