Not sure which it was, was probably a app token.
Anyway, you shouldn't really need a token if S-E just had decent security.
You should be able to bind it to specific country, or specific IP adress like ???.???.*.*, have the 2 last once there as most have dynamic adresses. That would stop over 90% of hacked accounts I think.
Just make your SE password unlike ANY OTHER PASSWORD YOU USE and you'll be fine.
Then, don't buy gil. Don't log into any SE fansites with your SE password, and you'll be good. No one gets hacked, people just get phished.
again another thread i read about token ? serious if token only way to protect player security what's the point that playing a game that u have to pay extra for an extra security protection ? serious ...
P/S: we both have token just the problem she's not register because i bought the game in UK and she's on other side of the country
It's still possible to be hacked with a token linked. Just looking far into things here:
1. They get your emergency removal key if you so happened to type it onto notepad or something with a keylogger in your computer
2. They put in the code the exact same moment you type it to log into your account. Course this would require the hacker to be sitting there waiting till you punch in the numbers.
3. Think i read on someones thread they can just call to get it removed by answering a few easy questions? Don't remember the thread well.
Having a token doesn't make it immune to hacks. Just makes it harder to hack. i linked one right away to my account as soon as they let us link one o.o
You don't have to BUY the token. You can download the free token app off iOS. Not sure if theres one for android? But read you can also use googles token app thinger for it.
But that would restrict you to play only on a specific IP and PC which will mean that if you for example go to a friends place to play on their PC for example you won't be able to..security token i think is one of the best options out there...with the app version if your phone gets hacked then there goes your data
A LSmate if mine tried to get the iphone token.
Unable to, says country no supported.
Thing is, I did call them. I sent in tickets. I did several chats. Basically, for me at least, contacting them only let me log in but not remove the registered security token. I'll probably try this again in the future, but considering how long the process took before and how they couldn't help then, I don't know if things will necessarily change.
