Unspoiled Gathering Nodes: Does these have gathering caps?

So I finally reached 320 Perception.... Anyone knows if the HQ Rates go up with even more perception or is stacking GP really the best way at the moment.

It does go up, but from what I saw via food is it is around 20 perception for 1% hq increase.

As far as I know, with optimum melds on HQ artifact the maximum stats you can get are

Gathering: 377
Perception: 387
GP: 620

(though I am missing some information on GP meld cap offhand tool so you might be able to squeese in a little more GP). 700 is definitly out of the question right now, even with food. You can get a max of 644 GP with food, but if you can't hit 650 or 700, there really isn't a point in melding past 600. Same with gathering. While you can hit 377, you only need 340 so melding higher than that is surplus. So after Gathering and GP are at the 'caps' so to speak, focus on Perception.

Sorry to dig this up again but it was relevant to what I've discovered.

Right now I'm sitting on 376 gathering, 371 perception, and 600 GP. HQ chances for rare items after 2.1 launch were 4% with 95% chance of gathering them, whilst for normal level 50 items I had a 15% chance of HQ chances and 98% for rosewood branches and 99% for rosewood logs (15% HQ chances were spotted at 264 perception for the logs and 98% chance of gathering was spotted at 315 gathering skill.) I took some gear off to get me to 340 perception and I was then getting 1% chance of a HQ, at 351 perception I had 2% chance of a HQ and at 361 perception I had a 3% chance of a HQ. So this is kind of how it plays out:

320 = 1%
350 = 2%
360 = 3%
370 = 4%

They will eventually introduce nods that need more gathering or something so overmelding that might seem pointless now might pay off later.

With 344 gathering I get a 94% chance on an unspoiled node since 2.1

Interesting, I was still seeing 95% for level 50 items with 340 gathering skill, every level under 50 increased the gathering chance so level 49 items had 96% chance, level 48 items had 97% chance etc. What was it you was gathering?

I'm at 31% HQ with Buff and get less HQ gathers then before.

Could just be me though but seems less.

340 gets me 95% as well on everything unspoiled, not just Clusters.

A simple 50 GP spent on the 5% increase and voilà~
