I love how all these threads are about how we can have SE recover our accounts and it always end up with people talking about not being hacked.
Yes, we know...we just want our account back, our account has already been secured after the hack.

Yeah i never went to any websites or talked to spammers or anything but i noticed they would pm me with their links to websites i just ignored them or blacklisted so i have no clue how i was hacked :/
you don't actually need to go to any gil site or even look for 3rd party programs although those are the easiest way some jackers are using to get account info. there are the fan sites which have unscrupulous owners adding traps and then there is the Jpeg code way of transmitting trojans (won't give details). those are all easy ways to get a key logger or even enter a password on a site that others can try on your accounts.
when you download ANYTHING it should always be scanned for errant code. people are becoming complacent because the ISP's have been doing that for them and flagging many sites and items before they are ever seen. AV's are disabled to allow X to run and never turned back on. ask 100 people what firewall they use 40% will answer none or the OS firewall.
also and definitely not least is clicking links in game forums can be detrimental to the good working order of your computer and its security.
yeah im thinking when i google stuff for ff14 like quest and where to get certain items something i clicked did it...dont remmebr downloading anything but i changed my pw and ran a full scan no viruses or anything...now im on day 5 waiting to log in waiting on SE to respond
