He's not supposed to stand in stuff. You never want to stand in stuff. That's basic MMO stuff. If he's getting 4-5 stacks of Poison on him he's an awful tank and I don't know why you would think that's your fault at all.

I had no issues with healing Brayflox as sch. The poison debuff wasn't bad at all. Even with 4 stacks, I hardly noticed the difference. The only time damage got crazy was when the tank stood in the green spots. I think some tanks assume that since they have a healer with them, they don't need to avoid damage. We wiped a few times in my first run while our tank learned that lesson...
Well:
Brayflox is synched to 34 (regen is at 35).
SCH's have atherflow+2 energy drains. WHM's don't have shoud of saints yet.
Adloquium and cure ii have the same MP costs, as does physic and cure.
WHM's esuna is effective at preventing damage from poison, and magic damage-boosting debuffs.
Neither job should have MP problems (use cure ii only when freecure triggers from a cure, and esuna is a cheap way to stop damage).
All things considered, SCH's have an advantage at brayflox level.
I healed a very derp tank with 4 stacks of poison just fine.
Not having leeches before 40 is just annoying in case you need to remove a slow and what not. OP calling it a problem is just silly.
So far my only problem is the pet switching back to Guard after you give it an order. Silly fairy does whatever she wants!
my last tank on that dungeon got 4 stack. Just mic your pet to focus heal on tank and pray DPSes dont dip on shyt on the floor. Its annoying but quite doable.
The only time I had problems healing 30-40 is my own l2p issues. Usually it was me having problems keeping the tank in range (specifically in Brayflax final boss) while also keeping myself and my fairy out of AoE's. I never felt like I was missing Leeches before I got it.
My tactic for healing through the tough parts where everyone takes lots of damage, even before i got succor, was to target the tank, and manually cast embrace on the tank, and then set up physick or adlohoweveritsspelt as a mouse-over macro and I would cast that either on the tank or whoever needed it. And just do that over and over again. And if I have to run, I still cast embrace so at least some heals got out.
I've run plenty of below 30 dungeons level syncing down my scholar, and didn't find it problematic to only have physick for those.
I actually split stacking into INT and MIND as an arcanist, cos I heard on the forums that having some extra points in INT was still good cos it got you more out of Energy Drain. Now I just stack MIND. Sometimes I solo level with cleric stance, other times I forget. I honestly don't notice that much of a difference. I do notice other classes kill things a lot fast than me, but I figure, I'm a healer so that makes sense.
But yea - I have no complaints about leveling a scholar, only times I've had problems is cos I'm being dumb/bad/still learning how to best use the faerie.
For what it's worth. I started running Brayflox as a scholar right away at level 32, when the dungeon opened up for me. Now I am level 35, and I have ran it numerous times. Not even once I have felt insufficient as a scholar, the only time I have been breaking a sweat was when the tank ate the dragon's breath and had 4 poison stacks - and even then my chain healing sufficed. The poision can be countered by brute force healing - not very elegant, that is granted. But as a scholar without a cleanse, what can you do more than abuse the living daylights out of your poor fairy?
actually, when in a party as a SCH, you are referenced as a PIE type class, so I assume the devs wanted piety to be SCH's main stat of choice. Still having +INT traits isnt very helpful, I think they should have made it +PIE instead
i'm not complaining about scholars as such, i just find it a draw back and class limitation that we lack any sort of debuff removal tool till lvl 40, i lvled white mage first, and i liked it, but i like the scholars healing a lot more, i think the main problem i have is that tanks feel the need to take the breath attack when they got 4 stacks, and then stand the boss in poison, and wonder why people start yelling when they don't listen at the start. but from my stand point, the scholar is great, but lacking in some departments.
