another healer role class

Any new healer class will be great but im hoping for dancer.

no.. it would be RED MAGE... heals and lots of buffs/debuffs kinda like ACN but buffs and debuffs replace the DoTs.

I'd rather see it made into a tank.

Dancer...I don't know about a melee healer. Some people say it could be what Bard was gonna be, but Bard is ranged...I heard talks of Geomancer? What is that? Or it's just a potential dps job for Conj rather?
But yeah I fully agree on the need of more healer classes, there's not enough choice!

Sage could work as a healer too ;).

I've healed and tanked the low level instances as an Arcanist :). Honestly if you queue as a Scholar that low, you just get your Faerie and Physick so... Arcanist just adds more DPS if anything with their pet. Either way you'd be spamming Physick.

Tank and Healers are the most important roles, if you can't handle the responsibility than don't roll them, some people like the responsibility and the fact that the party relies on them. I've seen plenty of absolutely horrible tanks and when you try to give some friendly advice, they get all butt-hurt. People who get butt-hurt easily should do everyone a favor and not play those classes. Though there are a lot of elitist jackasses out there which only makes things worse.

You mean like in FFXI where RDM were FAR better healers than WHM for most of the game?

A perception caused with the introduction of those weak collibri in the Aht Urhgan expansion that resulted in an atrocity that to this day I have not forgiven the FFXI playerbase for. A share of my ire goes to the developers who allowed it to fester far too long that still has the job in that game in a rotting zombified state. It was not how it was designed to be played all the way back to the very first FF.

This is not FFXI here, it's FFXIV, and a fresh chance to cement it back in its rightful place as the melee fighter/double magic school hybrid that it's supposed to be.

Agreed. RDM in the whold of Final Fantasy was a hybrid. Chemist I would be for... already posted a thread in DPS about it as a possibility for dps/support (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t.../92507-Chemist.) but I can see the merit of it being a healer as well. I would have said Time Mage as another possibility but they already gave HoT to WHM... Dancer was a decent frontline healer in FFXI and I wouldn't mind seeing it that way again. Overall yes, we need another healer. Preferrably one that starts at level 1 -.-
