Good thing 90% of the PC population is Miqo'te then.
From what I remember of the Forgotten spring quest, the Keeper of the Sun miquotes are like lions, the males fight for dominance to breed and the females are the brute force, going hunting and all that, while the males stay safely in their homes.
Come to think of it.... Did anyone check back alley of Forgotten Springs? Maybe we can find some M miqote mass grave or something...
Just since I didn't see anyone else say..
The apparent lack of male Miqo'te NPC's is pretty themely, if you've read around the world information some. Early on there was a publication explained Miqo'te are a bit more feral in general than most of the spoken races, and while they're often tribal and have a fairly normal gender ratio, the tribes generally aren't that large and the males have an especially hard time adapting to normal 'civilised' culture. Most Miqo'te settlements don't have many males in them because they have a tendency toward solitary lifestyles and hermitism, and the same goes for the cities. Had you noticed the male Miqo'te's tendency to stand around like a cat that thinks someone'll take a swing at it at any moment? That's why.
So in my opinion there's just about the right amount of them. A few scattered about the settlements for various reasons, be it eccentricity or necessity - although a few wandering the wilds would certainly be a nice touch (then again I guess that's where the PC Miqo'te boys come in, isn't it?). It's not Final Fantasy XI where the extreme rarity of Mithra males lead to them being hoarded by tribes and kept in gilded cages; there are still plenty of them. They just don't tend to get on well with densely populated areas.
