I liked the system in FFXI WAY better than in FFXIV. When i made a report in FFXI a GM actually came to talk to me IN game. And it felt like i was actually heard. In FFXIV it's like i make a report and i get no response @ all. Nothing, not even a message. The same RMT has been shouting in Ul'Dah Markets for the past 12 hours. I do have him blocked, but i can see the character and the mouth moving constantly so i know he's still shouting. Just very concerned @ the pace in which GM's seem to react to such things as spam in populated areas. No way should someone be spamming in any area for 12+ hours and still be on the game.

I completely agree! We should fix it sooner then once again later!

I can understand SE not wanting to tip their hand by saying HOW they plan to address this issue, but it would be nice if they'd simply acknowledge that A) they are fully aware of how incredibly annoying spammers are and B) there ARE plans in the works to eliminate them (or at least drive most of them away). Put the scum on notice.
It's bad enough for players who have a general understanding of the game and how it works, but I'm sure it's extraordinarily frustrating and off-putting to new players who can't get their legitimate questions answered because those questions get lost in the garbage cyclone.
And please, SE, if you want us to pitch in and help you identify the cretins, give us the tools to make b-listing and reporting easier. Help us help you.

Why is a right click ignore feature not included ?
It's an MMO development 101 feature.

I have 74 Gil Sellers on my Blacklist. :-\ None have been deleted so far. :-\
I had 40 two days ago. At this rate I'm going to be capped sometime next week.

A fix does need to happen, I don't like the idea of keeping shout and yells turned off in general chat.

The fact that it has already gotten this far out of hand in a subscription-based MMO is appalling. I expect a higher level of service and security when playing a game that bills me monthly as opposed to a game that generally lets me waltz in for nothing. Just about every other MMO I've played has had at least some basic form of RMT prevention, and that certainly does not seem like the case here.
I love this game, and I want to see it succeed. And to do that, SE needs to nip this in the bud before subscribers start jumping ship.

so far out of 37 added to blist 5 show deleted but i would love to see a spam timer on all chat and abuse of chat channels penalties would not be hard to add if blizzard can do it square enix can.

worst i just discover something horrible, the blacklist bug, time to time, if the bot spam a lot, the blacklist let pass message.
it did happend two time a couple of minute ago on ragnarok in gridania.
bug or not is a serious matter now, if they can make the chat bug more by this spam they need to take action really really fast.

/bump this is out of control. I never seen so much spam before in a mmo... Aion was bad but this is awful. Please SE look at this and try to implement a solution.
