Interesting. It's probably something they ninja implemented to give another sign that the Umbral Era is very very close. Those sneaky devs. I wonder what other things they've added that we don't know of yet.

What the quest does is ask you to put a few wind crystals on the ground till they're drained. They never said this was the 'only' way to get a deaspected crystal, so I'm guessing they're going to provide an explaination as to what is happening for those crystals, and probably it's not the exact same thing that happens in Mor DhonaQuote:

I got a Deaspected Crystal from a Grade 1 mineral deposit earlier this morning. That said, I haven't seen another one after quite a few more deposits, so it's certainly not a common thing to find while mining.
