No one seems to enjoy the trip

I know I am enjoying my journey. My favorite areas so far are Hermit's Hovel and Bronze Lake. Did you know there's a functioning changing room at Bronze Lake and that you're able to access the second floor of the log cabin at the hovel by jumping on the bookcase (ugh I wish we could climb ladders though)?

I wouldn't say nobody is enjoying the journey. I think your view might be a tad skewed by the topics in general discussion where most threads tend to be about lodging complaints.:rolleyes: The lore forum has been very pleasant so far!

I just reached level 34 today, got my unicorn and I am so happy! I mean, when I was on beta, I had very little time to play. Since it was weekends only and I work retail, all my gameplay was mashed into 4-8 hours each weekend, which I had three weekends.. do the math there.. I got to level 26. So while I am able to move through the game quickly, on the actual release, I've liked slowing down. The beta got me familiar with most of the mechanics of the game, now I am enjoying the ride. Husband thought I was a whack-a-doo over my excitement for my unicorn. My mother enjoys watching me run through areas (she likes the chocobos). Slow down and smell the roses!

I loved the first trip, the secondary classes are lame to level. Fate grinding is boring, dungeons are a nice break but without fate partying credit in certain level zones is very hard to obtain. I wish battle leves weren't terribly inefficient (largely due to allowances and little exp reward)

I wonder how many people have noticed that their character's mouth moves when they type something in chat.

I remember in FFXI when doing Mission we need party to defeat hard boss, and how Artifact need a whole Alliance to even obtain the piece and how rare the Coffin would spawn. After getting the whole set feel a great accomplishment. How it come down to FFXIV now is the first Artifact is so easy it's laughable, sure it's not the best Armor in the game but the 2nd version is not that much harder. It just big time sink and spam the repeated Dungeon for Month to get.

How I missed those day of long hard work, epic boss battle team work and dedication to get. The only thing I looking forward to FFXIV is the Relic weapon, which right now seam take the most effort, team work, and probably many days to get.

Not quite 50 yet with my main, but I know this is how I will feel when I do hit 50. It's already how it feels trying to level my Warrior at the same time as my Scholar, which is tedious without a good source of XP besides Fates. Battlecraft leves pale in comparison to Tradecraft leves. Other than that gripe, I've enjoyed most of the trip.

I can't take 10 steps in this game without wanting to take screenshots. Did you know that one of the storyline npc's quote the Jabberwocky? There is an npc named Ermegarde. Stuff tucked everywhere and references for years! I love this world that has been crafted for us and I want to personally shake the hand of every person that worked on translating the game into English. They gave everything so much flavor and spirit.

I would suggest you try "looking through the forums" again. Though I understand quite a bit of exaggeration is necessary in order to make the 'people would actually play a xi-2' argument seem relevant and valid, if you actually looked at what people are talking about you would know it has nothing to do with wanting "more xp, gil, and frequent rare drops," and everything to do with wanting systems that are sustainable, fun, and actually make sense. To say that any complaints are from a lazy and greedy playerbase is a convenient lie used to obfuscate the actual issues and pave the ground for these "entitlement generation" psych 101 reject circle-jerks.

Why would you say that to look cool?
Is it that hard to fathom that people enjoy other things than endgame grinding?
Being 50 and grinding is bound to leave you burned out and bored long before we even get the 2.1 patch.
There's nothing in it for rushers, endgame will be there forever.

They want to do it before the majority of players do it...which is kinda silly since the majority of players appear to be doing it anyway. That's what they get out of it, being the "first" to do something and be annoying braggarts who no one is realistically in awe of at all.

But on a more serious note, I think the argument can be made that people rush because they feel if they don't, they won't be able to reliably get through some of the lower level content due to most people being finished with it. They want to do the things that everyone's doing right now.
