Why did you need to revive 5 month old thread just to complain?
Generally one would go to complain in General forum, not New player help forum. This is a forum dedicated for people who want to ask for help, not for someone to complain that someone is asking for help.
In case anyone is still wondering, you can remove the echo buff by clicking it (just like any other buff). I also found it very annoying having to turn the "loser buff" off for every retry after I had messed up some of my SCH quests.
