I disagree. AF is iconic. An iconic look shouldn't be changed simply because you want to look special and unique.

Vivi wore blue, so? Nothing to say a later tier of BLM AF won't look like Vivi's. Doesn't merit being able to dye BLM AF WHITE or something else. (Not to mention IX was a bit of an oddball title in this regard, a lot of roles had a different color there, it doesn't change how they look in virtually every other entry though.) Besides I just said all other gear besides AF should be dyable, are you really complaining about your FF job gear being a traditional color scheme?
Where did I complain? I was merely tearing down a ridiculous argument that a certain color is "traditional" when there are multiple instances of it being different in the past. I also added another picture to that post for Monk just to drive that point further. I could keep adding more, like purple dragoons from 11 or how warriors used to be more of a bright red. Did I mention Bards?
Edit:
Also, it's more non-traditional for a black mage to not be blue.

Every crafted gear is dyeable
Thankfully this game won't become a tie-dye mess like most games with Dyes.
You can dye pink gear, just not the green and blue gear
Such bullcrap reasoning there.
Armor customization is already pretty horrid, what with a lot of armors using the same base model with just some minor tweaks.
I agree wholeheartedly. We are not playing a single-player RPG. This is an MMO, and our characters are our characters.
I want to dye my white mage robe black.
Gear with a story reason for being a certain way, like uniforms or class story armor or something along those lines, I'm ok with not being able to dye. Tradeskill and random armor that just exists to be within a level range should be dyeable. Especially if it can be worn by multiple classes
