Every mmo needs it's easier then ez mode soloing type of activity. In WoW it's called LFR, in FFXIV it's called Fates, but at least Fates don't give better rewards then end game dungeons like LFR in WoW does.

..to enjoy this game ; dont stuck on one thing there is so many various thing in this game (leves, dungeons, crafting, gathering,"another classes",guildhest,GC leves,GC quests) .. so do fates when you want to, then it wont be lame ..
I kinda rushed to 50 and going back and leveling all my crafts now. Why? Because I'm a craftaholic. Not even going to try to level a real job till all my crafts are 50. Still, will be able to do dungeons and stuff when I feel like it/have gil.
Fates suck.
Worse, they favor jobs with aoe damaging attacks. They're a whole truckload of not fun as conjurer, unless it's a boss.
Also, they have no mechanics, even the bosses. It's just smash face. Closest thing I've seen to a mechanic is LB'ing Odin hoping he dies before you do.
Once you start leveling your other jobs FATE grinding is the most time efficient way, sadly.
I've heard that exp chain parties versus higher level mobs is better than Fates. Unfortunately it isn't a well known way of leveling since not many know about it yet. I wish someone would make a guide on those types of parties to get the word out. I am sick and tired of grinding Fates.
Honestly, I fate grind to go up a level or two if I'm under leveled for the story quests. Although on gathering Fates, it is a nice way to gain exp fast on your subclasses.
