Your main nuke as BLM is Fire I.
You are almost never going to use Transpose.
You use Blizzard III and Fire III to switch between UI and AF. Fire III when you get a firestarter proc.
That's the..basic gist of it.

Fire III only is terrible DPS and will drain your MP like it was nothing. Casting only Fire 1 outside Macro, then casting Fire 3 ONLY to get Astral Fire III up and when Firestarter procs allows you to conserve your MP for more skills whilst in Astral Fire
That's helpful. I have not seen many things for BLM so im not fully into the strat for this class yet. IE, why I posted in the forum to get some far criticism. Does anyone have any tips for thunder as well is that usually used the same as fire? I'm not really under standing why there are 3 tiers of thunder when they no loner stack as a DOT.
But is there any tactical difference using 1 2 or 3 the highest one seems the better unless theres some more things im missing.
So the same thing can be said about Blizzard 1 where I would want to stay in fire umbra most of the time and swap to ice for thunder casting and mp regen?
Well I don't play BLM but I guess you have a trait that gives you a chance to get a free FIRE 3 instant cast when you cast fire I or something like that.
Usually a BLM "rotation" would look like:
Fire 1 > Fire 1 > Fire 1 > (Firestarter proc) > Fire 3 > Fire 1 > (Firestarter proc) > Fire 3 ... until almost out of mana. Then:
> Blizzard 3 > Thunder 2 > Fire 3 > Fire 1 ... and repeat all over again.
Use thunder 3 whenever you proc thundercloud.
Switching between thunder 2 and 3 is useless. If thunder 2 is used, the potency of the thundercloud proc is predefined (as said in the tooltip).
"Additional Effect: 5% chance after each tick that potency of next Thunder, Thunder II, or Thunder III will be 295, have no cast time, and cost no MP."
Using any of the thunders will result in the same damage. All that matters is the original cast.
Thunder III thundercloud has a potency of 340 btw.
