I agree and disagree i could see SE to make a patch to increase the size a tiny bit. Around when shiva does diamond dust she could transform into her primal form and once that is done she would vanish.

Calling upon the real primals would be cool but....

The real Ifrit, Titan and Garuda all get one-shotted by Ultima Weapon and absorbed.

Hold on a second. Not sure if its confirmed but next patch 2.2 might make it able for free companies to summon their own primals. If this is true then what are summoners for?

Egis are a summoner's ability to control the elements to the point in which a pet can be wielded by the player. Due to the sheer strength of a true primal, you alone can only wield a fraction of its essence, also known as the Egi.


The true primals, as you are asking, can still be summoned, but only under special circumstances with a free company.

Just as the story only shows several amaljaa or kobold or ixali grouping together to summon the primal.

Step 1: Patch 2.x is released, in which primals will have roaming FATE encounters. Much like Odin does.
Step 2: Of the people fighting this "True Primal", only one player who medaled gold will get a special drop.
Step 3: This drop has 2 factors to it: A cooldown timer (you must use it in x amount of time or it disappears) and a type of limit break-style bar, which your FC can build up. If the bar is full before the cooldown timer has expired, you can use the item, and the true primal will be summoned to perform its supermove for you. (ex: Ifrit will show up and hellfire your enemies). Effect works in dungeons and pvp.
Step 4: After the cooldown has expired OR the primal is used, server-wide there will be a weather effect that indicates the primal has been released, and can be captured again in FATE.

After reading i do feel like is there any point of having a summoner at all. If free company can end up summoning a primal form to use there full powers then that takes the fun out of being a summoner. I thought the Egi since are the essence of a primal would still be able to use there finishing attacks/ limit breaks.

SE logic: Beastmen can't summon the primals cause it hurts the planet, but you the FC named Ladybug Bunny Huggers can summon them to kill whatever you want, cause...I SAY SO!

On Another note: Honestly really disappointed with Summoner in this game. Lets be honest; they did copy a lot from FFXI.

and more or less all other Jobs works more or less like it did in FFXI, except for SMN, they are now disease/curse throwing ppl with different kind of lava-lamps as pets.
Dunno but you guys, and I'm probably just one of those few, but SMN was one of the main reason that I wanted to play this game, wanted to experince FFXI magic all over agian.
