Character selection crash

I have 19 minutes left, I'll let you know how it works when it gets going. =]

Still doesn't work after reinstall. =[

Doesnt' work after doing all drivers and windows updates. =[ Didn't have any of these problems yesterday.

Don't know what else to try.

Reinstalled and everything, all windows updates, tried different things. Game crashes the second I press OK when it says "Are you sure you would like to log in on X?" at the chara select screen, no error number, and the windows crash box doesn't give any extra info.

OMG IT WORKS!

I deleted the ENTIRE Final Fantasy 14 ARR folder from the My Games folder in documents. I had to tell the launcher I have a SE account and sit through the opening scene again but it didn't crash this time!

I hope this helps you, and I'm so sorry you have to wait so long for an install! (PS, EVEN IF YOU REINSTALL, THAT FOLDER STAYS IN YOUR MY GAMES (Documents > My games > Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn), MAKE SURE TO DELETE IT AND TRY!)

Still need ~2-3h to download ffxiv but now I know what went wrong ;_;

You're very welcome. Now it'll reset your characters UI's too and you'll lose any screen shots unless you move those folders over. But yeah, it worked for me, I hope it works for you <3

Does deleting the folder delete my characters entirely?
I've been getting the same issue on both my characters, and I really don't want to have to completely restart one or both of them.

Nah it doesn't delete the characters themselves, just your UI settings for each character and things like character macros. The information on your characters themselves are within the server, not in any of the folders you have on your comp.
