Patch 1.17a has been announced but...

I thought they were going to announce information on the grand companies this week???? =[

And in response to all those who mentioned Yoshi's statement about 1.17a? I was going off of the western approach to patch increments - in Western development, lettered patches tend to be hotfixes or backend updates, while full numbered updates are major patches.

So, I apologize for the confusion.

Well the size of this patch is about 43% of the last one so my guess is it is either something they don't want us to speculate about or it's just system/ui changes and getting ready for the battle patch.

last one was 70%, next one is 30%. 30%/70%=42.8%. It's 30% of the full patch but ~43% of the last patch.

Might be the back-end of the holiday event that we can't figure out. My guess is that they didn't get it finished in time due to circumstances, which is fine. That'd be almost 30% of 1.17, considering how much 1.17 beat expectations.
