That technically cannot work for a held connection at a server.
If it works for you now, then its for other reasons.
It has not a thing to do with this.
(Also most people are behind a router and you just renew the lease of your IP from the router, not even the ISP.)

Thanks for this! Worked for me.
-
Thanks Fight! Too bad i can now log into the jp servers and not the na servers at this moment.

@Opener:
Good Sir, i stand corrected.
The statement from before is still halfway true.
It depends on your connection. With a new IP from the ISP and a flushdns it worked.
(Before it didnt).
For Cable that means manipulating the mac on your wan port of the router to get a new IP. For DSL its unplug and replug after 1 minute.
Static IP owners would be screwed. Anyway, thank you kind sir :D
*edit:
Or they are working on it and this is unrelated. idk.
-
I think in order for this to work you'll need a new IP address from your IP (via ipconfig /release then /renew or resetting your router). IPCONFIG won't work if you're behind a router or have a static IP (like I do). I'm concerned that this might be a working method in getting in though as it seems insecure.

Unable to update NA/EU servers again!!!!!!! I thought the maintenance period was to specifically fix the log in/overpopulation issues.......

So i pulled out the cable and replugged it. Now the NA/EU servers are down my list says......sorry guys appearantly SE used my router as server! I'm deeply sorry for causing so many troubles for you all!
