Just Hit Level 50. Need some advice and info.

I found this bothersome myself, I hit 50 while hanging out with some friends and before logging for the evening went to town to see if anything had opened up in the GC or Adventures Guild to lead me in the direction of what's next and found nothing.
I know about Relic from XI and searching the web but is there actually an NPC in game who says "Hey go do A, B, C and I'll give you a shinny"?
