Nice job! I actually wiped 5 times myself before finishing the boss. No shame in learning! My PUG was all calm about the deaths and generally quite friendly.

Yea...tried this about 7 times before giving up, our PUG healer simply didn't understand LOS the boss with the pillar and died like every time she disappeared...got a guild healer in later...killed it first attempt :/

During first attempts we wiped many times and eventually gave up. The tank was actually pretty bad an had no idea what to do even after we told her.
The next time we had a new tank, wiped a couple times but then beat her. Had troubles keeping the pillars up but eventually figured out how to keep them in good enough condition.

What was everyone's party makeup that ended up beating her?
I went in with a party of PLD/SCH/SMN/SMN and we kept losing the pillars, SMN don't have any AoEs so we took a long time killing the feathers. Is this still a stack BLM for their AoEs type of boss like 1.0? We SMN even sic'd our Ifrits on a feather each and I spammed Ruin 2 on another feather and it still took too long killing the feathers. -

Edit: I also didn't get a chance to test this myself, but you might be able to do them in with a combination of Tri-Disaster as mentioned above and then Bane to spread the three DoTs to the plumes. With two summoners this might drop them all before bind wears, but again I haven't tried it. -

We did her with PLD, WHM, DRG, MNK, first we were a bit sceptical if we could even pull it off without a BLM and 2 melee, but to our positive surprise killing the feathers was no trouble at all.
When the fethers appeared we quickly threw out some of our weaker AoE attacks for initial damage on all of them, then chased down the feathers 1 by one after they spread. Only thing that made it a pain for the WHM was that whenever Garuda threw her Pain Wheel attack of whatever it's called it would always hit me and the DRG at the same time behind the boss. : / But after our 5th try or so she went down, was big fun. :)
